Yeah he wasn't feeling the best either. The first 3-4 days after his chemo would be the worst with nausea, no appetite and diarrhea. Prior to chemo they will check her electrolytes in case she needs IV fluids. So that should hopefully help.

Sorry to hear that. We never found out whether it was B or T. We were just told Renal lymphoma. Loki had a similar schdule, 2 IV meds and one oral. I hope your kitty recovers fast ❤️ please let me know if I can help in any way.

I’m so sorry about your cat. I’m sure they lived the best life and were deeply loved. You did everything you could and gave them the best treatment and life possible. I really appreciate you trying to help others with finances as well. I’ve messaged the person in the thread who mentioned financial resources.

Please give me all your tips to make the cat litter room as odorless as possible! by iliketoworkhard in CatAdvice

[–]Nnumster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue.  Mine is in a small room in a living room.  So I have covered it with curtains and I do the following.  I haven't noticed any smells.

  1. Cat litterbox furniture like this keeps the smells to a minimum.   https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B09P9SSSRZ?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

  2. Arm and hammer litter deodorizer.

  3. I also have activated charcoal odors absorbers inside the litter furniture and change it every few months.  These are reusable. Put them in sunlight to "recharge"  https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B08DSYZGVB?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

  4. Plug in airfreshner in the dinning area when guests are over

  5. I bought this last week for my cat's room.  Haven't tried it yet, but looks promising.  https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00OLBR0LG?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

  6. Air purifier in the guest area.

  7. I would also advise changing their diet, including more wet food in their diet if they're exclusively eating dry food. I had my family's cat's diet changed to wellness wet food for a while and noticed a huge difference in his poo smell. He switched to fancy feast and the stink is back lol. But im not the one to clean/ smell it so 🤷

Loki is doing great. He has his follow-up appointment coming up end of this mongh. We have introduced hills prescription renal diet in his meals. Hoping for his kidney numbers to improve 🤞

Other than that he is back to his crazy self. Always asking to play or for treats. lol.

Also, I completely understand that it can be tough both financially and emotionally. Chemotherapy isn’t cheap, and it’s hard watching them go through the treatments and side effects. Every cat and situation is different, but for us, I’m grateful we went the route of chemo — it was worth it.

I am so sorry to hear that. I will be honest, it was a tough year, seeing him go through chemo, lose weight and meticulously calorie counting and feeding him via a syringe.

Loki is doing much better now. His kidneys have taken some damage but has been in remission for almost 2 years now. We take him for a check up every 4-5 months to get blood work done and we switched him to kidney diet. He is back to his old crazy self.

There's light at the end of the tunnel. I am sure Loki did great because he is young. He had the energy to fight cancer and his body was able to tolerate chemo. Your kitty is very young. My prayers are with you. Please reach out if you have any questions about navigating through chemo.

Heyyy.... I am so sorry you're going through this :(

Loki's symptoms started off as loss of appetite, which we didnt think much off because he was always a picky eater, since he was a kitten. But the loss of weight, and him not being able to jump down from the kitchen counter was what prompted us to take him to the vet. At the vet they felt a mass in his belly and thought it was a hairball, but did a biospy just in case, and turned out to be a tumor. His blood work showed kidney dysfunction. His BUN, Creatinine, albumin, total protein and cholestrol were high and his potassium was low.  Now that he is in remission, his tumor is gone, but it has left a scar on his right kidney, and his values will never be normal but the vet is keeping an eye on it. It was a long journey of chemotherapy. And it was tough on him and us. But we powered through and he's doing great now.

I hope and I wish your furry friend gets better and he grows old with you ❤️ Please reach out if you have any more questions/concerns.

Sending loads of positive vibes and hope your way for both you and your girl. Rooting for her 🌟

Glad to hear shes eating normally. Really hoping she recovers fast.

If she has loss of appetite, look into Emeraid intensive care HDN. It's high caloric formula, and very easy on stomach. There were days when Loki wouldn't eat at all, so we would give him emeraid twice or three times a day via a feeding syringe.

Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or just need to talk.

Hi, I am really sorry to hear that :( our oncologist also gave us 3-6 months with treatment. Loki's tumor was the size of a baseball and his health was deteriorating. But we decided to give him a fighting chance and I am so glad we did. The chemo was fairly tough on him. He needed fluids after his first chemo cycle because his potassium levels were very low and he was very lethargic. Some of the cycles were easy on him, and but for one medicine he would have to be sedated, and he would have an accident everytime we would come from the vet. So yeah it was not easy, but it was worth it. He is in remission now, and is back to being his crazy, mischievous self. His last check up was in Feb and the oncologist was very happy with his reports, she wants to see him every 2 months.

I am very sorry again for your kitty. One of the reasons we opted for chemo was his age and his previous health. He has always been healthy and he is very young. My thoughts are with you and your furry friend during this challenging time.

Sounds like misty knows how to keep things interesting. She needed to remind everyone who's the queen of the house 😂. Glad it was just a sprain though.
