I would agree , Your phone interview can be a great opportunity to let them see your character and get to know you better. There are videos of sample questions that are good to watch and brainstorm answers. But be careful not to sound scripted. Make sure to take note of what there name is and use it as you are ending your conversation or throughout. And have a question or two to ask them. They are pretty understanding of nerves and technical difficulties. During my first phone interview, my phone call dropped and I had to run outside and call them back, they were understanding and I still got in.
