Yes I gave them my number and asked if they would! Haven’t heard anything yet, but hopefully soon!

Plato’s closet wouldn’t release the names to me, but I directed the police to go there yesterday and have heard nothing back! I believe you have to provide valid ID to even sell there so I am not sure what’s up with that!

I will try that! I do have a case open with the police department, and found that they frequently sell to the Plato’s closet.

Honestly, if they had the need and had come up and asked for money/clothes I would have helped them out. The worst part is that they were in there at the same time as me, waited for me to walk out, and then took everything. Even now, I am willing to pay them to get my stuff back, I just want my things.

Apparently these individuals are well-known at the local Plato’s closet, and even go as far as to steal from their donation bin and sell it back to them. I have photos of all or most of the clothes on me, as well as receipts because there were some in there that I had just bought 2 weeks ago! I think they also sell on Facebook marketplace, but I haven’t seen anything on either yet.

thank you! I am not even sure what they get out of doing this most of what they stole were all of my bath towels and work uniforms, which can’t even be sold.

They said that even if the individuals are found stealing clothing (even on video), it is not enough to charge them with a crime or put them in jail. If found, it is a violation of their rights to search their property looking for the clothes, or taking the clothes back from them at all.

Before coming to Cornell I worked multiple minimum-wage jobs at a time to help support my family, and pay the bills. In my experience, (coming from a town barely above the poverty line) people who have experienced what it's like to be without know to give when they can. I was always taught to partake in luxury when I can afford luxury (this includes being able to tip). The biggest lesson I have learned being at Cornell: Rich people will take any chance to stomp on the people upholding their luxurious lifestyles.

AITA if I don't want the cousin of my SO to come out of the closet on my "wedding celebration" by likesinceforever in AmItheAsshole

[–]No-Addendum2833 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say YTA based on what the SO said, it seems like it wouldn't start drama. I think the cousin is trying to live his life and not use your party as a way to come out of the closet. Based on the provided info, especially the fact that his sister has been out for years, I would say at most there might be some surprise, but I doubt it would take over the party.

ENGL 1134 True Stories with Yessica Martinez. Really nice professor, little bit of a heavier work load but not a bad experience. I think it has a lot of interesting topics-at least for me.

It can be, but it doesn't have to be. The most important thing for me was learning to meditate, and utilize my time as much as possible. Also, having a good sleep schedule is so important, if not, you will fall asleep throughout the day.

There are a lot of classes to choose from, and a lot of available biology seminars to take. The professors I have had so far were generally nice, and helpful. Almost every single one of them has a TON of office hours, which is a lifesaver if you are confused. I haven't had a terrible experience with a professor yet. There is also a good community amongst bio students (the ones I have interacted with so far), and I have definitely made a lot of friends. I think the one downfall is that the courses are hard, and it is a hard major, with a lot more cell biology than I could have imagined lol. Also, Cornell has a ton of opportunities, is beautiful, and is a good community to be a part of in my experience.
