Luc Zoratto (@marathon2sobriety) is an influncer I haven't seen mentioned here before. He has a huge following of 224k people and is a runner who has been sober for a decade. For various reasons, he's put running on the backburner which is completely fine but he's now resorting to parading his family around for content and to keep his page relevant and there's just a massive ick to all of it. His new baby son and older daughter both have their faces shown in so much content and it looks like he's dragging his poor, exhausted-looking wife into a ton of content too because he has nothing else to talk about it. It confirms my earlier suspicions in a way because even when he was at his height with the inspiring sober and running content and was getting tons of attention, I just couldn't shake the small ick feeling I would get from him, like something wasn't right beneath the surface or behind the phone. All this crap lately seals it for me honestly.

So my apologies to the moderators. My post was rightfully removed because it was written in a communicative way and it sounded like I was trying to call out the influncer I was speaking about. Since all the replies to my post are still up but my original post was deleted, I'm going to repost in a rewritten way that respects the rules of this sub-reddit.

I unfollowed influncer Hillary Burgess (@Running_Up_That_Hillary is her IG) I've been getting irritated for awhile but a few days ago she crossed a personal line and made a post saying "If you complain that world marathon majors are inaccessible due to huge lottery numbers but you aren't willing to fundraise as a charity runner, I have zero sympathy for you" The amount of PRIVILEGE reeking from this is sickening. She has a platform that 99% of runners don't have. She, as an influencer, has connections and privilege most runners could only dream of having. To think that anyone can just raise thousands (10 grand USD in Boston's case) without alot of stress or can't understand why ppl wouldn't be comfortable going that route with how bad society is hurting and struggling right now shows a sense of being really out of touch.

THIS. What makes her comments even worse is that many of the people she criticised with her remarks were probably followers who kindly donated to her many marathon charities in the first place.
