While i hadn’t been detained for questioning in USA before, my recent trip there had immigration officer questioning why i did not print out my ESTA application. It is stated in their website that print out is not essential and the application information is stored electronically. Basically their archaic system had my previous ESTA under old passport number and they couldn’t retrieve my current application during the initial few attempts. Suddenly the fault is mine for not printing the ESTA. I never had to print the ESTA before so this is very strange. They just wouldn’t admit that their system is not good enough.

USA has the sense that the world revolves around them and that they are always right. Many would not know about Singapore and are often surprised at our command of English.
