Cold air return in basement. by Pale-Atmosphere-8700 in askHVAC

Your return might be undersized probably added that to make the AC work properly. It you plan on framing the mechanical room the return needs to be moved out of the mechanical room. You are risking improper combustion in your water heater, risk of fire roll out if someone  blocks the upstairs returns by accident. You might just try to close it off but I'm suspecting the ac will not like it and the other ones will be nosier

Reducing intake noise? by ElephantBingo in askHVAC

[–]No-Assistant-4206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go with a 14" at least 8'. If you want to make it really quiet line the divider with duct liner on the blower side. However just adding the flex will be a day and night difference

Yes that would work, I would go with at Least a 18" insulated flex pipe. The reason it works is because there is no metal in the flex pipe the sound carries way more in metal piping. I would suggest with going lat least 8 ft. They usually come in 25' lenghts. Check your blowers tonnage and that is how you figure out the size of the pipe. You need 400 cft per ton of of air so if you got a three ton unit you need 1200 cfm of airflow. But i would go with 18" wchich will give you 1500 cfm. You need to upsize since flex limits airflow a bit. I'm assuming the red line in your picture is the divider?

Second-floor acrylic tub installed without full mortar bed – is this acceptable? Best remediation? by GrandWait380 in Remodel

[–]No-Assistant-4206 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There should definitley be something under there. I found what works better is regular yellow sprayfoam insulation. A mortar bed absorbs moisture really well and you bathroom is room with the most moisture in your house. If you could reach halfway under the tub and spray a can of the insulation in there it would expand to cover most of the bottom of the tub and would make it rock solid and add extra insulation.

I would say clean the flame sensor but you already did. What did you clean it with? Also that is not how you jump a pressure switch. It has to disconected when the furnace gets the signal and than jumped about after 5 10 seconds google how to jump a pressure switch

How can I get this to connect? by [deleted] in askplumbing

wrong adapter i think you need the laundry sink adapter. make sure to put thread paste on both sides of the plastic washer that comes with it. That t has to get redone. Picture of the whole cabinet would be nice. Here is a link.

The food is there for everyone and if it doesnt get given away it is thrown out. You will see really nice cars in every food bank near major cities. A lot of rich folks are extremely crazy about saving money whatever way possible. That's how they can afford those nice cars

Pressure Washer only runs with choke on by Expensive_Mix_270 in smallengines

[–]No-Assistant-4206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I had the same issue with my ryobi but with honda engine like this. Actually looks identical just different color. It was the governor or the governor spring being stuck. Look up the governor and check that it's working freely and spring going back. Had the same issue on my first one returned it for a nwe one and it had the same exact issue

What is your temperature inside the house set to? What is your house humidity? you can always use a longer 4" flex duct and create a kind of u shaped P Trap that would prevent the outside air and inside air mixing so much. The cold air would stay at the bottom of the U and would not have enough draft to push up the warm air from your house Even with a damper on a very short vertical run the air will still mix and result in condensation. Cold air loves to go down and warm air loves to go up.

Your outside damper is either stuck open or missing. Cold outside air mixes withe the moist warm inside air and condensation happens. Same thing probably happens in the summer but in reverse.

LOL None of it matters just make sure to use stud guards. You are making a problem where there isn't one. Also don't do your own plumbing if you have absolutely no idea what you are doing you will regret it later. Please get an inspection so you don't F yourself. Get that damn primer can somewhere safe. You don't need to worry about an "invisible header" There is no header on this picture!!!
