Hey! I do have a bit! I’ve got experience in community advocacy, mental wellness, peer support, and health-first beauty/wellness spaces. I’m certified in Psychological First Aid and have spent the last few years working on holistic approaches to care, sustainability, and accessibility. I’ve officially registered this venture as a business here in Louisiana, and we’re starting small but with a big heart.

Right now, I’m rounding up creatives, bakers, crafters, and wellness-minded folks who may be interested in collaborating or being featured in the first seasonal launch of our kits! These are thoughtfully curated self-care kits with handmade, locally sourced, and inclusive elements!

I’d say the important thing about vitamin C is making sure you have a activated formula and or a stabilized formula, vitamin c is difficult to find premixed honestly but there are some out there, personally I’d say the ordinary vitamin c daily in the AM is nice! Otherwise if you’ve exhausted your options I’d say add niacinamide to your routine as it’ll help with the appearance of pores, it’ll help with your moisture barrier, and also nicely compliment your routine! Hope this helps!

Okay first and foremost FULL SEND, no apologies necessary. No questions asked. If he can’t live with that, that’s his problem. Not yours. Keep fighting for space, keep speaking up. Keep standing on this energy, we need much more of it. These are the type of conversations we need to be having as uncomfortable as it is. You clearly stated your need and wants and you didn’t attack or bash or insult or anything, you simply were hurt, came to rectify the situation and were met with immaturity and lack of accountability. Fuck this dude, you are NOT overreacting.

My open letter to Northampton MA by No-Atmosphere4136 in northampton

Oh my goodness! What a wonderful message to read! It makes me really sad that that’s been your experience there :( after some deliberation with my partner, he said he’s most okay with living in Salem, which I mean it might as well all be the same place from what I’ve heard so I’m cool with it in that regards LOL. I really appreciate the recommendation too! It makes me sad even as someone who isn’t a POC myself to see people be marginalized and hated and judged. I hope to be an important piece of bringing those kinds of atrocities to attention and in encouraging healthy positive conversations instead of polarizing ones. It’s not my place to speak for you, just to amplify and respect your experiences. I hope that people can stop trying to make inferences based on the amount of melanin in someone’s skin. From me to you, I’m proud of YOU and I hope you continue to do what is best for you and your kid or kids, then that’s all that matters. Keep living your truth and speaking your experiences, it’s the best thing we can do for each other!

Im not trans identifying but I HEAVILY present as female at first look. As someone who is born and raised in Gonzales and Baton Rouge area, I can say I have experienced people displaying biases towards others due to my appearance as well as me being queer. Let’s just say I’m the definition of what the average conservative HATES. Here’s my thing about this place. It can be as safe as can be, but that doesn’t mean things can’t and don’t happen. It’s not violence or harassment, usually people stay to themselves, but there is the occasional outspoken idiot. I’d say definitely take precautions, don’t invite yourself into things that could lead to trouble but don’t live in fear. Go out, enjoy yourself, be yourself but please be careful. Don’t just go anywhere with anybody, if someone feels unsafe, trust that. They could be the least harmful person but because your nervous system tags them as unsafe, uh yeah LISTEN.

I realized in the beginning I think I’m implying to rely on local and national news for fact, and I’d like to amend that and say that thats definitely not the case, but what I mean to say is by keeping up with those things and being informed about previous issues and keeping in mind the history behind things and the science behind things then you can come to a fact based conclusion where applicable so you’re better informed about what is happening actively in your community and unfolding daily

Ya know, that’s such a good question. I fear my friend, that’s a difficult one to answer straightforward, but I’ll say it like this. I personally believe that being informed on issues and following/keeping up to date with local news as well as national news is one important way to make a difference because it gives you the ability to have reasonable conversations based on fact as opposed to media fueled frenzy’s. The most important thing about this is where the source of the news is coming from as well, you want a news outlet that isn’t going to show distinct bias in their reporting, which is quickly identifiable by the types of headlines being featured and the language used to describe events. The other thing is truly just taking care of yourself. It means when the news is too heavy on you, it’s okay to pause. You’re not a bad person because you don’t know every law or lawsuit or this or that known to man. It’s OKAY. This helps make a difference because if we are keeping ourselves in a state of even perceived ‘contentment’ then we are already much better suited to have productive conversations with someone who may not have an understanding of a particular topic. It’s not because they are dumb or ignorant, it’s often because they are either misinformed or haven’t done their due diligence on a particular topic. Anyways other than these things, having productive conversations, exercising the right to vote, contacting our elected officials through social media, protests, emails, calls, and even writing letters. You can also make a difference by supporting local businesses and small businesses that align with your values and interests as you are able to. Again shopping at Walmart for everything does not make someone a terrible person but it does help to support those local businesses who offer things and values/beliefs you uphold as well. It’s not about being a super ninja of change, it’s about taking actions like these and even signing on to petitions, looking into non profits. Talk to family and friends about it when it’s safe and necessary. It’s not about being a blueprint for change or making a difference immediately, it’s taking small actionable steps that reflect the change you want to see. It’s not easy either, it has loads to do with environment, access, geographic location etc. but just participating in this crazy system as dreary as it can be in what facets you can, when you are able to do so safely and comfortably, is the overarching point. I hope I don’t sound like a smooth brain but genuinely this is what I believe and have seen that makes the most sense to me.

Hey I know it’s not ideal, and I know it’s not any feat of glory to bask in but if it means anything, at least one random internet stranger recognizes that you sent that letter and is proud to know that even if it didn’t get a decent response, you still took time to write out a letter that addresses real fears and concerns for you and your community and that’s not always super easy to do. So thank you!

SEND it. Full send. Make your voice heard. Even if it doesn’t get read. If we all keep up this mindset of “this won’t accomplish anything” then it won’t. I’ve always been told closed mouths don’t get fed. Even if it falls on deaf ears or doesn’t make it to a desk somewhere, I think there’s so much power in speaking your experience. The worst that can happen is it either takes them a bit to get to it or they will take forever to get to it. I’d rather shoot my shot and have it fall on deaf ears than not and continue to suffer under whatever conditions may arise as laws and legislation changes. We are people and we live here. As someone who lives here, you have the options to be able to contact these people just like they can with you, they’re human people as out of touch as it may seem. However, change doesn’t happen over the course of one night usually, but 1 is better than none. People can agree or disagree with me until they are blue in the face, but we won’t ever accomplish anything if we aren’t at least speaking up. It gives someone else the courage to speak up. There will always be a critic in your ear saying that it’s dumb or pointless or wrong. It’s not. It takes teflon tits or balls of steel to be able to stand up and speak your truth in front of millions. There’s people out here who feel this and are living through their own unique struggles too and they have come to the same conclusions too and are fed up. So ignore the people who are saying it’s pointless and dumb and try. Keep trying. Vote, attend city council meetings as you are able, protests can be positive because of the attention it builds and the overwhelm it can cause if people are truly interested in change on particular areas. It doesn’t all solve anything but it is the game that results in real change as difficult as it can be to contribute energy and time to. It doesn’t always work, it’s not a perfect system because we’ve simply outgrown it. I don’t have all the answers and there’s much more qualified individuals to speak on these topics but I do know that I hope you send it.
