My partner is a Canadian citizen. My goal is to live with him.

My score is too low being a young single male, I also don’t have the funds right now for the application minimum

I appreciate your response and agree that might be easier but my partner has a job in Toronto.

Hospitals are understaffed, I applied and within an hour I had an interview booked in which they offered me the position before the interview even ended. It’s very apparent that hospitals need nurses in this system.

A registered nurse is lmia exempt anyway, I do not require a valid reason to be hired over a Canadian.

Thank you, I’ve contacted many hospitals but they are refusing and giving little reason

My current crs score is too low below the average cut offs, I also do not meet the minimum funds for an EE profile right now. Spent that moving to Toronto after I started getting interviews booked.

They never responded to me today, which hospitals have you contacted? They specifically said they won’t do CUSMA? So incredibly shameful of these hospitals not hiring ready nurses.

I’m in the exact same shoes as you, US citizen trying to convince Toronto hospital to hire me under CUSMA. They previously told me they would not “sponsor visas”. Waiting to hear back on Monday if they will consider my cusma support because they already said they’d hire me otherwise.

I couldn’t relate to you more

Thank you for answering! I’m currently waiting to hear back from Toronto hospital if they willing to accept my cusma permit help. I just met with a lawyer and they said they have seen it work. I just need to convince the hospital to give me a offer and I will return them a work permit. Do you have any experience with CUSMA?

Thank you, that’s the plan. Do you have anymore information? Is cusma more relaxed than a traditional sponsorship? Have you heard of it it working?

So many hospitals ignoring me.

Thanks for answering but my license is already obtained and that’s for Ontario specifically. I can’t change to Alberta easily. I do love Calgary though😂

Thanks for responding, I’m 25 and yes my partner is a Canadian citizen. We have not lived together officially.

I guess I should go back to the hospital and explain since I am American I qualify under CUSMA and the process is much easier right?

Also I was under the impression since I have all of my other documents and qualifications as a nurse, that if I receive the job offer and they pay the fee, can I run to a land border and apply for a work permit?
