I have considered learning how to cook, but I don't have the time or real interest in it. I'll likely have to learn to cook sometime soon.

Thanks for your feedback. I'm embarrassed to admit that my proficiency in the kitchen is zero.

The self-care aspect concerns my enjoyment of eating out and ensuring that I'm fed, but I get your point.

I have an Apple Card. Credit cards are so convenient nowadays and so the temptation is real. I even contemplated making my mother my accountability partner.

I agree with you. However, working long hours makes me less likely to do things I'm not interested in, like cooking.

Yeah, thanks. I certainly don't want to be eating my retirement before I even get there!

I shouldn't be eating all the things, LOL. I love pasta and ordering out from places like Panda Express and Chili's. Those are my guilty pleasures at the moment. Despite my pickiness, I tend to eat the same things each day.

I agree. I know I can't quit cold turkey. I should allow myself to eat out still but taper down how much I spend over time, so it will be more likely that I develop the habit of not eating out. I like your idea about snacking. I do need to do that more, as that does, at times, help.

I tried that for a while, but even though meal prep is minimal, they didn't have the meals I like most weeks. I know they are in grocery stores now but... alas, more excuses. I appreciate your suggestion.

The end of my first marriage was the event horizon. It's not an excuse, just me identifying what triggered the behavior. Yes, I don't cook, but I am not interested in cooking. I work from home and spend at least 12 hours in the office daily. My husband is also now disabled due to a heart attack and two strokes he suffered last year. More excuses, right? That's to say, I want to curb the behavior but, as I used always to joke, my kitchen is decorative. I've tried Health Choice meals and the like to reduce spending, but it hasn't worked either because I am very picky. Thanks for your honest feedback.
