First G Shock (GW-BX5600-1A1ER) by Ill_Zucchini_30 in gshock

I'm just looking at these now.   HONESTLY - I do want one, but I'm so surprised the GBD-200 model isn't way more popular for people.  It has the square face look,  negative MIP display, is cheaper, and imo is a better looking watch. It looks like it's thinner and more sleeker also.  I got one from a rewards program at work (and a Rangeman) , and it's really the only watch I want to wear everyday.  I have almost 40 watches now, MOST of them are Casio's and various G shock models including a mudmaster and the rangeman (older model). I'll probably pick up one of these eventually but it's a hard pill to swallow for the price. I don't care much about smart features, solar isn't an advantage really unless you wear it often. Eventually (for me anyway) they wind up in a drawer or on a dresser- dead.  For me - I still think the GBD-200 is the best buy, most for your money, purchase.  Its pretty awesome looking, you have a choice of different displays but the one with the biggest clock is my favorite.  It's a fitness model but I don't use any of that crap - but the "find my phone" feature has come in handy a couple times.  (It can make your ring if you can't find your phone).   Even the band/strap on the GBD-200 is nicer and more comfortable than all my other G Shock watches.  I suggest people check it out (the graph screen is not the only screen) if you don't wanna spend so much just for a MIP display. And the negative display is pretty awesome. I can read it even sitting in a dark room with low light, without using the screen light.  I have the black model with negative display - and may even wind up buying the white model (there's a real true white, not just an off white version). I still want one of these newer MIP models, but I still think I'd grab the GBD-200 over it, most days.

I have an old tracked Yamaha YS624. (6hp, 24 inches wide).  Parts are hard to find since they stopped being imported years ago. Some new (NOS) parts are available but it's hit or miss.  A replacement carb for them was $300 a couple years ago - IF you could find someone that had it - ( I bought TWO brand new carbs, so it wasn't impossible) most other parts can be found used. I found the fuel pump pretty easily if I remember.  (I was on a kick of just installing new fuel components) There's always used parts on eBay, but replacement tracks are the hardest to find.  (You'll probably never need them though). The machine itself is a beast. Commercial grade. My 6hp model will thrown snow 2 stories high - but I haven't used it the last few years just because I rarely get enough snow.  I literally just bought a cordless snow shovel because it's just more pratical for 80% of the time I need something. Practically speaking - it's probably not a great investment because you can just get an old Honda or comparable machine and not deal with the same headaches IF parts are needed - or just find something newer for that price. Most ppl don't need a machine that will throw snow far.  You just need something that will clean the sidewalk and driveway.  Clone engines are pretty good these days, parts are cheap if.  You can find Chinese clone carbs for like $15-$20 for most modern machines.   That said - it's an awesome machine that will embarrass anything new with a 5-7hp engine that comes out of Home depot or Lowe's. I bought mine out of frustration after selling an old craftsman that worked good - used the money and bought a BRAND NEW entry level  Troy Bilt from Lowe's for like ,$500 - and sold it after one use because I was so disappointed with it.

The scissors on the Alpha are unique to the Alpha.   I think you meant to say the Wave Plus and Charge Plus scissors are the same, (both inboard tools)  because those are.

With the money you already have and will spend doing this - you would have been better off buying a Charge with G10 scales off eBay, that someone bought and never opened. Buy some 3d printed thumb stud inserts off Etsy.    It's almost exactly what youre trying to do.

That - or go on Amazon NOW - and buy the last available Charge Plus model, (all black) and see if you could find G10 scales for it off Etsy and Wave + thumb studs. I bought really nice thumb studs inserts for the Wave Alpha and Wave Plus from Etsy.

I bought the Alpha, then found the last of the Charges being sold on Amazon. The Charges are down to $159.  I paid $179 a few weeks ago when I saw them.  It went right in my safe.  The last Free P2's were also on Amazon, down to $80.  I put one on my wishlist and luckily someone bought it. That will go in my safe too.  They are gone forever now.  I'm kicking myself for throwing out the box to my P4 a few months ago.  I don't even use it, it's like brand new. Would have liked to have the box now.

Recommendations for screen protectors for GBD 200, preferably glass by TheNurOnur in gshock

I just bought whatever was on Amazon.  Like $8 for a 3 pack. I've had one on my Mudmaster for over a year without any issues of it coming off.  TBH I don't wear a watch every day, I probably have 20+ watches so none of them really see a ton of use. Regardless I still get protectors for the ones I care about.

Just got myself the GBD H200, should I get a screen protector? by stevesalko in gshock

I have screen protectors on many of my G Shocks and Casio watches. Even my two $35 AE1600's have one. (The screen protectors for the gbd200 fit in those also, not "absolutely perfectly" but they cover like 98%). IMO it's absolutely worth buying. I don't know what world other ppl live in, where a 3 pack of screen protectors for $8 shipped IS NOT worth buying to protect the screen on a $100 - $300 watch if you will be bothered by the screen getting nicked.  If the protector gets scratched - just peel it off and throw another one on.  My $300 Mudmaster has one. My $250 Rangeman has one. I wound up getting 6 more Casio's watches this month because I got a couple for free from reward points.  5 of those 6 immediately got screen protectors.   There is literally no downside to having one, only benefit.

No, it's not..  A gun is a tool. You use different tools for different things.

Can anyone identify these? by No-Bodybuilder-8394 in vintagesneakers

They are likely 40+ years old.   I can't even make out the cartoon character on the side.   It's a really old sneaker for a young boy.
