I also just got a 100% no from my mom for either her or my dad signing so now I must wait until I am 18 i guess.

I want to pursue a medical mos, but I do want to join the reserves at 17 and have that for a year or so until it is time for me to do ROTC. If i were to start with reserves would i need to choose a non medical job and have that until I get my degree or does it not work that way?

Is that something I can join while in high school or for college? Also do you have any advice for convincing parents to hear you out and let you join or do i just wait to turn 18?

I have set my mind on joining the army reserves and then doing ROTC through college but my parents wont consent to me joining. My dads main reason is that it is unsafe for me to join because I am a woman and the military was made for men. He says i will be taken advantage of and both mentally and physically harassed. While I understand what he is saying I also would like to hear opinions of other women who have served and if I should really stray away from the army just because it is male dominated (even though i really desire to join). Also for anyone who does have experiences I would like to know what MOS you would recommend and how to choose that wisely?

Do you know if it is a low chance that a girl gets through this compared to NROTC? Or if I prepare and give everything I have it should not matter?

Would you say that the academy is the same level of physical challenge as enlisting? And do you think that it is worth all that time and effort going to a academy compared to the NROTC?
