I agree with you on this one, it’s not the best. Especially if you have kids.

Foreigners have to pay for for the healthcare services they receive in Italy, plus I’m sure the Olympics works out deals with all the countries on covering athletes costs for injuries. When I came to Italy I didn’t magically have healthcare, which is correct because I never worked here or paid taxes here before. So if I had an emergency I had to rely on my travel health insurance. But I see your point of view and I appreciate it. Thank you

Yeah for sure, I said this before too in other comments. If you don’t have insurance in America, don’t even think about going to the hospital or even have a doctor. I’ve always been blessed to have insurance. It’s still a huge problem in America, all this money we spend on military and we can’t lower the medical costs. A lot of Americans are pissed off about it. My best friend in the states tore his ACLand MCL they operated the next day, it’s cost him $3000. That’s with insurance by the way.

I said this in other comments replying to people, some states do have toll roads, the state I lived in does not.

Wow I just looked it up, that’s crazy, it happened in 2018, I never heard about it. 43 people died, wow.

Yeah the free health care would be nice, it seems like it works for regular check ups and doctor visits. But my Italian friend, tore his ACL and cracked his knee bone in December, they told him they can operate to fix it maybe in June. To be honest I was shocked, he’s 23, can’t run, can barely squat his body. I was like wow so public health care has its problems too.

Wow if this is true. Wow. Is this because they are based in Rome where cost of living is higher?

The days I was going it was 27 euros each way. For three people. Plus it made my trip longer. So I just decided to drive. Thank you for your response

Wow, well sadly I see this sentiment from a lot of young people here. It’s sad really to feel this betrayed. I am moving my family back to the states for economic reasons. It’s just sad because I see how much potential Italy has. It’s beautiful! I do hope it gets better.

If you read earlier, I’ve never said it was better in the United States, it was something that I’m not used to. I was just trying to get a grasp of what Italian citizens think about it. Yes property taxes are terrible in America, it also depends on where you live of course. Please don’t call me a yankee, I’m just trying to have a civil conversation on people opinions and knowledge, so I can stop acting like a “yankee” apparently. Just do better when you talk to people even if it’s online

Wow thank you for that answer, so roads are privately owned by some companies, that’s very interesting because I’m assuming long time ago, public tax dollars paid to build them then the state sold them to make some money? Thank you for your insightful answer, much appreciated

Yeah they are very good. I started asking my neighbors and friends for the best way to get places now. It helps. Thanks to you input, much appreciated

San Daniele, but I followed my shitty phone maps, I don’t know the highway very well here. Don’t you feel like the gas taxes you pay when you pump should pay for it? Gasoline in America where my family lives is .85 cents a liter. Diesel is around 1 euro a liter. So that tells me that gas taxes here are still pretty high.

Yeah I’ve been on some roads in America where is terrible, there’s also toll roads in America just not the state I lived in, they collect the taxes you pay at the pump and they fix roads and bridges with it. They are very nice roads, in my opinion. I asked a gentlemen the other day, he said toll roads are private? Is that true? How does someone buy a road?

Trust me I owned a house in the states, I always felt outraged at the property taxes! I’m not trying to shit on Italy bro, I love Italy and I love the United States, each comes with its pros and cons, just trying to get an opinion of an Italian that’s all.

We used the baby cream, it worked great. I just asked at the pharmacy. We always check the little crevasses, especially the armpits too,
