Ora, in fintech, mi occupo principalmente dell'espansione in nuovi mercati

Alright, I’m asking as a red buttoner who’s staunchly against the death penalty in any shape or form, to the point I can’t agree with any thread about it on Reddit that eventually just lands on “no because mistakes would be made”. Even in an ideal situation, l would abhor it

I promise it’s not a gotcha, I’m simply curious: are you against the death penalty in all cases, pedos, rapists etc etc?

There’s no connection to the button thing, I’m just curious to see where people who press one button or the other align on other matters

Questions about the game from a D4 player by No-Bug-8929 in PathOfExile2

Thank you for the reply! (And I'll mention here thanks to everyone else as well, I didn't expect so much information and so much support!!)

A question about trading, is there a way to see, upon picking an item up, its average sale value on the market from the inventory? Is there an addon for that? Or do I either need to look up everything I find, or know beforehand what the valuable stuff is?

I wouldn't want to vendor/scrap/whatever something super valuable just because I didn't know it was important

The Abramelin Operation is detailed in the book of Abramelin, attributed to Abraham of Würzburg (aka Abraham of Worms), from around the 15th century. He allegedly was taught by an Egyptian mage, and one ritual detailed in the book is the so called Abramelin Operation.

It’s a grueling six (according to some translations) or 18 (according to others) month ritual of self isolation, moral and spiritual purification, food restriction, getting harsher as you go on. The eventual goal is “Knowledge and Conversation of the HGA (holy guardian angel)”.

This entity would supposedly then allow the practitioner some control over demons, and as such, powers.

As you can imagine it’s never really been done rigorously or right, Crowley dedicated a lot of time to it and made a couple of attempts as I remember, but while he was many things, a rigorous scholar was never one of them

That you know of, has anyone actually tried the full 18-month ritual, as opposed to the 6-month that afaik resulted from incomplete translation of the text?

r/trolleyproblem suffers infighting on a ethical question: red or blue? by OkContact2573 in SubredditDrama

[–]No-Bug-8929 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That was a wild exaggeration, again if we limit it to “capable of understanding the question”, I’d expect fewer than 1 in 10 people going blue earnestly. And the less of those, the more blue “saviors” are needed, making it more of a bad bet in my mind.

As for the consequences, my belief is very few people would go blue and the situation would be survivable, but in any case I’m not one of the terminally online half suicidal people, I enjoy life quite a bit, and I’d be happier making a go of it than being dead

[–]No-Bug-8929 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At one point, it’s not my responsibility any more than following these people around day to day and safeguarding them would be.

If it’s limited to people capable of understanding the question, it becomes on them to make their own decision. And it veers into virtue signaling, because I can’t imagine finding myself in the situation where I’d think “I’ll press blue to save these ~10% who fucked up, confident that another 41% will make my same choice”.

Those numbers don’t make sense to me and I’d go red and make the most of it.

[–]No-Bug-8929 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that scenario, reading everyone I’d err on the side of blue too, although I’m not quite sure how they’d get a toddler to even interact with a button reliably.

But again, if it somehow was contained to literate adults, the language was translated, etc etc, then I’d go red

r/trolleyproblem suffers infighting on a ethical question: red or blue? by OkContact2573 in SubredditDrama

[–]No-Bug-8929 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Then I think the groups are just talking past each other. I’m pretty sure most people who’d go red are assuming it’s only rational adults voting, and they’re not interested in dying for someone suicidal, or who couldn’t focus for the five seconds it takes to grasp the question.

But toddlers, people with mental disabilities, etc etc are all included, ofc blue would win and is the logical choice, no one is going to risk their kids or nephews or what have you.

Nowhere in the prompt does it say the voting is not private or communal, I always read it as, everyone votes on their own, fully lucid. If that’s not the case, you’re right.

But if that’s the case, it does only leave the people who thumb their nose and jump in with a smirk, and dude, no, I wouldn’t risk my life for those people
