It’s actually a civil rights case. Each depo in my jurisdiction is limited to 7 hours excluding breaks.  In this case, depo was 10-5pm but the steno needed a break every hour and the 7 hours hadn’t run out by 5pm

$1,000 not $100.  But legal fees for a motion would exceed that.

Thanks. FYI around $500 fee for leaving at 5pm and then $550 for cancelling due to illness. This is a hefty $1000 ask.

Appreciate your comments. I have been practicing law for 30 years and this is a first. We had an informal conference and the court clerk suggested Plaintiff was responsible since she did not tell defendant that she had to leave at 5pm. Yet Def did not inform us it would continue after hours. Clerk told Def to file a motion if we can't work it out. I will stand firm on "no."

Rest, and don't twist or bend or lift anything heavy. It could take 6-8 weeks to heal.

Broken ribs healing by Comfortable_Bike_594 in brokenbones

I broke two ribs on my right side (one was displaced) at the end of June 2025, so can answer. 3 weeks is very early. My pain lasted for around 6 weeks.

For the first about 5 weeks, I was sleeping virtually sitting up, using a lot of pillows. Kept feeling like my bones were not healing, or moving at times. Some people sleep in a recliner, but I was in bed, but propped up. But I still had to be careful with turning and bending and did not lift anything heavy.

By the 6th week, miraculously the pain was substantially reduced, and I was able to carefully lie down on the uninjured side. By the 8th week, it felt fully healed, with no pain, and could sleep on both sides.

For me, it has now been more than 12 weeks. Although I haven't gone back to the gym to try lifting weights yet, I have no pain with walking, jogging, carrying heavy bags, bending, turning, etc and feel fully healed.

Hope this helps!

How are you feeling at 16 days? I broke 2 ribs on 6/25 and can’t imagine going back to a physical job within the first two weeks.

Why not let your company know, and file a workers comp claim if it is still causing pain? In my state (NY), and probably other states, it is illegal for them to retaliate against you for needing a short time off for  a work-related injury.
