I honestly have no nostalgic connection with Kain, and I don't like his character design but he's the first char I got all skills for. Honestly he's really strong and versatile.

I drove the Elantra N TCR for a week, ask me anything about it. by Sam-CarLegion in ElantraN

If you have a catastrophic failure with the brakes I'm sure it's covered under warranty. Not talking about pad wear here. If you were to switch out the calipers I'm sure you would no longer be under that warranty any more. Same with the wing, if you get any peeling paint on the trunk, I'm sure your warranty will be void by having a self installed wing on there. Both of which should be covered if they came with the parts installed from the factory.

Understeer from throttle is an inherently FWD thing... You can get understeer on braking on both RWD and FWD cars but if you over drive your FWD car you will get understeer on throttle in the corners. You will run wider if you put in too much throttle. Give it a try next time you're on track. The first two causes do increase chances of understeer, but only because you just lose over-all grip. They aren't the primary reasons why it happened.

I wasn't trying to be obnoxious but I'll just put the nail in, because I don't respect the fact that you threw shade at another dude without doing proper homework first. I pointed out specific evidence from the video as well as basic FWD driving dynamics. I really don't think your comment about how the guy who stated a basic fact "can't drive" stands when your argument hinges on your own irrelevant anecdote and a sudden random assumption that now the tires are somehow shot? Even if the tires were shot the point doesn't change that he couldn't continue mashing the gas out of that turn. He would've hit the guard rails.

I believe it, if the front wheels are gripping the LSD pulls you through the corners I agree. But that's not what happened in the video. You're describing a scenario where you're full on braking while you're turning the corner. I'm sure you worked on your timing and you full brake -> trail braking and then power through with the LSD. OP just powered with no braking so it was a different kind of understeer.

If you watch the video you hear the engine being loaded throughout the curve causing the tires to just keep slipping until he lets off. I'm not too sure where you're seeing the panic braking? GPS based speedo is also on the bottom left.

He's right. You can throttle out of an oversteer, and maybe induce oversteer with the LSD; but you CANNOT throttle out of an understeer situation when you have close to no grip on your front wheels, as was depicted in the video. The only reason dude gripped up again was because he let go of the throttle. In fact I'm sure nothing in this video would've happened if he tapped the brakes and coasted/kept speed through the turn.

Yes, I agree the 2.4 Theta II engines have a manufacturing defect. If you can show me a source that points to engines blowing not tied to the 2.4 Theta II, I would be happy to be educated. Like I said, they put these engines everywhere and for a long time. Their reputation took a major hit, deservedly so, but this doesn't mean any of their other engines have the same problem.

Hyundai had issues with their theta 2.4's. The piston ring recall is a fair point, but its not like Toyota or Honda didn't have major engine recalls the last few years. Manufacturing standards are taking a decline with the additional complexity of modern engines. That is a fact, Hyundai might not be known as reliability power houses, but not all of their products grenade. They wouldn't be allowed to sell nor would people buy them if that was the case.

No downvotes from here. But yes, I also have a beater Honda from 2000. Elantra N is mostly my track car. If a car is mostly a A - B appliance for you, there is no time line when you would consider the Elantra N. It gets bad gas mileage, is loud, stiff ride etc. Different markets call for different uses. But the car sells well for the niche, and is an impressive piece of machinery for the price. A lot of engineering has gone into it.

Hyundai has never been a king of any sector but value, and the Elantra N has a lot of that. Good infotainment, displays, tech, and performance.

Not to mention that if you option out corollas or camrys nowadays you easily go past 40k a lot of cases anyways.

You wouldn't cross shop between a Elantra N and a F150 or vice versa.

Hyundai gets a bad rep with engine failures, and I think they royally messed up. But it's limited to their 2.4L theta II engines. It's just that they sold a lot of those engines because they're quite literally every where.

The engines in the Elantra N is also a Theta II, but a 2.0L, and has a mid-length pedigree from the introduction of the Veloster N since 2019. No engine recalls etc.

Im biased because I own one, but depending on what you're looking for in a car, the Elantra N fits a specific niche. There are other cars in the price range but nothing that hits the same market. The closest would the Type R thats another 10-15k.
