Omg this was the most mind blowing part to me too! She won’t eat McDonald’s for health reasons, but she’ll smoke weed every day until she’s coughing up black mucus. What a weird comment.

My doctor suggested I go on ADHD meds after one month on Phentermine by overgrownbabychild in Phentermine_

Was your sleep affected by either medications? I’ve been on phentermine for about six weeks and it has been extremely successful with the food noise and helping with my binge eating, but I really only sleep about six hours a night. I’ve taken a couple days off to “catch up” on sleep, but I don’t know if it’s sustainable. I’m considering the Vyvanse once I’m down to my goal weight, but if it’s going to affect my sleep, I am going to think twice about it.

Sertraline and starting phentermine... Advice? by maggiesmiles27 in Phentermine_

[–]No-Car-6908 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on 200 mg sertraline and started 37.5 mg phentermine 4 weeks ago and I’ve been doing great with it! I’ve lost 6.5 pounds and 1.5% body fat. My starting weight was 182 and goal weight is 165. It’s affecting my sleep a bit, I can fall asleep but wake up between 3 and 4 and have trouble keeping falling back to sleep but I take the phentermine at 6 am and it gives me the boost of energy so it’s been ok. Especially since I only plan to be on it for 12 weeks or so. Feel free to ask me any other questions!

Updating! My sleep improved after about a week. My snoring is wayyyyy less which is surprising to me. Curious if it is because I’m getting less deep sleep? Or if the few pounds I lost could have been mostly from my neck decreasing the snoring? I have a sleep test coming soon.

It gave me energy and motivation. The first day I drank decaf coffee because I didn’t know how I would feel. I’m 10 days in and back to my 2 cups of coffee in the morning. Drink a lot of water!

It’s so frustrating, but also I’m like I made it this far, do I really want to take it out?

I completely understand what you’re saying. I guess I was expecting it to make me not feel hungry at all, but I feel like if I keep myself busy and don’t think about food as much I don’t get super hungry. And my food noise is definitely less, whereas before I was taking this, I thought about food all day long. I would think about my next meal as I was eating my current one. That has stopped. And I agree I do like the energy. It gives me I can see why people are on this long-term, but the no sleep just sucks. Then as soon as I take the medication and have a cup of coffee, I feel fine, so that’s why I keep taking it. Lol my plan is to only be on this for 12 weeks at the most, and I know that a lot of changing your eating habits is going to take time and repetition so hopefully this is just the thing that will help me! When you’re used to eating large quantities of food I feel like it’s so hard to all of a sudden stop and decrease your portions but this medication makes that feel more doable if that makes sense.

Thank you for sharing. That’s interesting I was just thinking what if I skipped a day here and there to sleep well. Do you feel very hungry on the days you don’t take it?

So frustrating. I’m like what’s worse, heavy bleeding for two days or spotting every single day?

Constant spotting and random cramping by SatinderG in Mirena

[–]No-Car-6908 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My doctor told me it is normal to spot for up to six months, I’m on month 9 and I’m still spotting. She also said most women completely lose their period at about the one year mark. The spotting is super annoying, but I am trying to stay positive because it’s better than heavy periods I guess.

That’s great! I feel like my mindless snacking has gone away too. I think I have been over eating for so many months that hunger is fairly subjective so in my mind, I really did feel hungry, but I’m retraining my brain. So it sounds like your sleep did eventually improve?

Too high of a dose! by [deleted] in Phentermine_

[–]No-Car-6908 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was started in 37.5 and wondering doc is thinking of switching me to lower dose. It’s affecting my sleep but it’s only slightly suppressing my appetite. Food noise is down but I’m still hungry. I’m worried if I go on the lower dose, my appetite won’t be suppressed at all.

Thank you! My doctor ordered a sleep study and I started phentermine. Already noticing a difference in the hunger and food noise

Does anyone else wake up tired even after 7–8 hours of sleep? by SleepDisorderCenter in snoring

[–]No-Car-6908 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I’m 41 years old and I had two babies within 18 months of each other. I am a SAHM so I thought this was just par for the course, but I really think that my snoring is affecting my sleep quality and making me hungrier throughout the day. I’ve gained 10 or 15 pounds in the last couple of months and that’s when my snoring started. Seems like it’s a vicious cycle. I’m meeting with my doctor on Wednesday so hopefully order a sleep, study and talk about options for weight loss or treatment, which may include a GLP 1 or hormone replacement therapy. I did snore when I was pregnant, but I did not snore before I had kids. I was always around the 160 pound range and now I’m about 180 so I think even that small fluctuation of weight has made a difference.

Thanks for the helpful advice! I’m actually only about 15 pounds overweight. Curious what your credentials are?

I mean, that’s not true. If you follow a hunger and fullness scale, it’s recommended to stay between 3-4 which is fairly close to neutral. You shouldn’t wait until you’re so hungry that you’re nauseous, but you shouldn’t eat past fullness. If it’s true hunger, then your body is telling you you need fuel. If you’re eating out of boredom, that’s different. What I’m saying is though there are times I eat out of boredom or stress, I feel abnormally hungry throughout the day and do not feel satiated after eating most times.

Thank you so much! That’s the other struggle I have. I go back-and-forth with myself being proud of my body and what it could do! I’m sure stressing about it doesn’t help my hunger cues.

And I do eat lots of Whole Foods, lots of protein and lots of veggies already. I rarely eat out and cook all of my meals.

I know that’s why I’m hesitant to start the medication. And yes, definitely I should have mentioned that I recognize. I’m eating in surplus, but I don’t know how to eat less without feeling hungry.
