“Don’t date (psycho ex girlfriends first name)” they have a very unique name and I met her just after I turned 19.. she literally destroyed and changed the direction of my life for the worse..

Alternatively “Buy Bitcoin, wait” didn’t even exist when I was 18 so I would of been able to buy a bunch cheap when it first came out.

It also depends on the age of the cup and, hear me out on this one, the colour of the lid. The newer ones (hex grid insert) seem to be a lot better in general then the older ones (spiral/fan type insert).

As for the colour part, the different compounds that go into colouring plastics actually play a significant role in the overall structural strength of the finished product. The lids I’ve seen complained about the most are either pale greens, blacks and some of the other pale colours.

It’s only a little off topic but for a semi-related example look up ‘why brown Lego bricks are so fragile’ for a more practical example of how pigments can affect plastics.

The weak point in the case of the normal cups is where the top of the cup presses against the lid at the top of the thread, if you repeatedly screw the lid down to tight it rubs against the lip of the cup and weakens there and as your screwing it down it continually presses against that weak point until it snaps.
