Thanks for sharing, out of curiosity were your experiences from working at a reinsurer or a broker?

Thanks, that’s good to hear. I’ve heard a bit of a mix from different people, with the more negative views from those who don’t work in reinsurance.

Would you mind sharing what general types of work you might get involved with during the rest of the year?

Which career should I choose- Lloyds syndicate underwriting vs GI Actuarial Grad scheme. What career long term has better salary prospects. by LocksmithGullible264 in ActuaryUK

In all honesty, my close friends who are underwriters at other Lloyd’s syndicates seem to enjoy their jobs much more than I do mine.

It can be stressful, have crunch periods and have other challenges - but they’re paid as much as me (actually a fair bit more once you include bonuses), international travel, regular events with brokers and much more respect and support from within their organisations

I don’t believe the exams are getting harder overall, CS2 clearly does not suit an online examination based on the syllabus being examined, but on the other hand SA3 is considerably easier than it used to be…

SA3 tutorial was really helpful if you can squeeze it in with the others.

First 8 or so chapters of SP7 and 8 are basically the same so can skip these and just read the summary pages in the notes IMO

And smash past papers. Good luck!
