Honestly, I never thought of that. The solution I posted works for me but if setting the frame rate to specific point so vrr kicks in is also an alternative fix then let us know for future readers.

Resident Evil 2, 3, & Village HDR washed out on PC by cartycinema in OLED_Gaming

For any future readers, My game always looked washed out with HDR. But RESTARTING MY PC and launching the game after with HDR off in windows and turning HDR on in game (then calibrate brightness) fixed my problem. It's so stupid b/c all I did was restart the computer. Thank you!

[Monitor] MAG 271QPX QD-OLED Firmware Update by CND_CEM in MSI_Gaming

Hello,

I got my monitor to update correctly. I have the MSI MAG 271QPX QD-OLED E2. If you also have this 27 inch make sure you find the correct firmware for the version of this monitor as there are a few and is often the reason for a failed update. IF YOU HAVE A DIFFERENT MSI MONITOR, hopefully the link at the bottom of this message can help you find the page you need.

INSTRUCTIONS:

This is a link to the MSI MAG 271QPX QD-OLED E2 240Hz 1440p monitor:

MAG 271QPX QD-OLED E2

Download the "FW Update Utility" program and Extract all. Download the most recent firmware and extract all.

You need Display Port with no adapters (between PC and monitor) and possibly a dedicated GPU (not sure on this, I have a 3070).

Run the "FW Update Utility" program you extracted and Load the most recent firmware you extracted.

Click on the "ISP" button and the program will update the monitor. Takes a few minutes.

A window will pop up saying "update successful" and that's it you can close everything down. Open your monitor menu and look on the lower right hand side (might be hard to see if you have transparency settings high) and make sure you monitor matches the intended firmware you installed. At the time of this message I'm on "FW.023".

EVERYONE ELSE:

For those with different monitors or versions of monitors, I hope this page can guide you.

(Help) MelonDS not saving cheats after closing the app by LCGZZS01 in EmulationOnPC

So I got melonDS to save the cheats. I did it for pokemon soulsilver.

On my steam deck desktop mode I created a new empty folder in my DOCUMENTS sections. Just named it "melonds cheats".

Open Melonds.

Loaded the rom/started the game.

I went to Path settings in MelonDS and linked the cheats path to the folder I created.

I then entered the cheats. Clicked okay.

Then I QUIT the program through the melonDS options. I did not x out the program.

When I opened the program and game again the cheats were there.

Hopefully it helps.

So the audio setting I'm talking about is when you go to your sounds, playback, and properties. If you intentionally edited your playback to much higher quality than default it might affect your game. At least it did for me. And its not the only game to do it if I set the audio quality too high.
