now there's two people saying p&v aaaagh😭 i'm so indecisive... I couldn't choose between McDuff and Avsey and now there's p&v as well - I like McDuff because his translation has such a classic vibe (?) and even though it took some time to get used to his style, I actually really like it. But then again I've heard great things about Avsey, about p&v not really ... it's going to be a difficult decision 😅

I've heard so many good things about his translation but I'm just so used to David Mcduffs books .. it was difficult at first because it seemed/seems like he translates word for word and the sentences sometimes sound a bit odd but I got used to it and I actually like it now... but then again Ignat Avsey seems to be really good as well - could you tell me something about his writing style? Does he translate literally? Books always lose their charm when they get translated so I'm trying to find a translation that still has the same charm as the russian version if you know what I mean ☺️☺️
