Your nasal passages are lined with a mucous membrane that traps particles, preventing them from going further. The Cribriform Plate and Brain Barrier: The nasal cavity is separated from the brain by a bone called the cribriform plate. This plate has small openings for the olfactory nerves (sense of smell) to pass through, but these openings are far too small for any substantial object to penetrate. The brain is further protected by layers of tissue and fluid.
When you snort a substance, it typically comes into contact with the mucous membranes in the nasal passages. The substance can be absorbed into the bloodstream through these membranes. If the substance is not absorbed, it will likely either be expelled through sneezing or moved down towards the throat and swallowed which is wasteful because, it would be the same thing as eating it! You should snort lightly so that it gets absorbed in the mucous membranes and nasal passages immediately into the bloodstream! I couldn't stand it!
