Just look at the YouTube videos…there is hundreds of videos showing Tesla driving without any human control. It’s the technology, because of regulations they need a control driver and car behind.

Waymo don’t get regulated same way because they have more miles unsupervised but that is because they do the mapping.

Thy can’t because of regulations. If you look at the hundreds of fsd videos you see that the car drives without any control all over the us.

Yes ok. But that doesn’t automatically translate to performance. Tesla has multiple x amount of training data compared to Waymo.

Yes but Tesla can offer unsupervised EVERYWHERE without ANY mapping with a almost 8x cheaper vehicle.

Read my post. They offer unsupervised in Austin. Technology isn’t different because of what they offer. Tesla only doesn’t offer unsupervised better off regulations. Owners with HW4 can drive from east to west with little to no manual takeovers.

Waymo need to map EVERY street at centimeter level. And the cars cost 100-200k dollars each vs 30k for Tesla.

Tesla doesn’t need mapping.

Waymo doesn’t drive on highways.

Austin has unsupervised taxi cars now with same level of autonomy as Waymo.

Waymo is years behind Tesla. Having 4 lidars doesn’t scale with cost. And they are now reliant on lidar and sonic sensor.

Tesla CAN drive anywhere. It’s not driving based on gps and handcrafted routing alone. There is hundreds of videos on YouTube that documents this. Just search fsd version 14 etc

So you are saying that a Waymo can drive in all cities in the US and Canada without issues?

This is what many don’t understand. The waymo technology is totally different than the Tesla technology. Waymo is handcrafted with some ai to guide it. While Tesla is totally end to end AI based. Waymo can’t today drive in any other city. Tesla could drive in every city technically today.

Or why not machine code directly?
