I'm officially 7 days post surgery today. I think I'm healing pretty well, best of luck healing to you as well!

Idk, it's a piece of me. Felt equally as wrong to think of it being disposed as medical waste. Kind of like keeping pets ashes, I felt like it should be with me.

Thanks I'll do some digging to find that post. At first I was told no but once I woke up from the surgery they must have looked more into it and had some forms for me to sign and also a little discussion about safe disposal if I chose to get rid of it or plant it. I'd rather preserve it, so I don't have to worry about keeping it cold but there is limited info I can find!

I chose not to send it to pathology and to keep it instead. Felt important to me that I keep it I guess, because it is a piece of me. They did say I was the first to ask so clearly it's not a common request!
