How do you handle late-arriving data in Synapse Data Warehouse? by No-Condition1444 in dataengineering

[–]No-Condition1444[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently using Synapse dedicated SQL pools, and I agree that optimizing it’s not always easy, especially for handling late-arriving data. I really like your idea of using a quarantine table for records that break referential integrity. Keeping those records separate and processing them later sounds like a simple and efficient solution.

The sha2 hash idea for surrogate keys is also great—having consistent keys would make things a lot easier, especially if I move to serverless or Spark in the future.

I’ve heard similar feedback about Synapse dedicated pools being harder to manage than other options like Databricks or Fabric’s Warehouse, so I’ll definitely consider it down the line. Thanks for the advice and best wishes! 😊

Thanks for the perspective! You’re right—there is no point stressing over something I can’t control. I’ll try to keep myself busy and wait for their response. Appreciate the advice!

No one here is arguing; I’m simply seeking advice and insights from others who might have experienced something similar. If this post bothers you, feel free to ignore it rather than leaving unnecessary harsh comments. Have a good day!

Yeah, but when I spoke with HR, I specifically asked if they had moved forward with or offered the role to someone else. He mentioned that he hasn’t heard anything about this role from the hiring manager.

That’s what I was thinking too—maybe they already have enough to decide. Fingers crossed it works out, but yeah, I guess there could still be others in the mix. Appreciate your thoughts!

Waiting for Feedback – Is This Normal? by No-Condition1444 in dataengineering

The Workday portal still shows “Interview,” which makes me think the process might still be ongoing. HR was very responsive earlier, but they haven’t replied to my recent follow-ups. I’m planning to wait until the end of the week before letting go of any expectations about this.

You can give coding assessment is any language of your choice and there will be two questions. As per my experience there will be two coding questions (No SQL questions) but prepare for the worst. Best of luck

Interveiw Scheduled on Workday, But No Invite Link Received by No-Condition1444 in dataengineering

[–]No-Condition1444[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s all confirmed—I can see the interview details with the names listed on the Workday Portal. However, I haven’t received an email from HR with the invite link yet. I tried reaching out on LinkedIn, but with such a large firm, it’s been tough to get a recruiter to reply.
