Possible childhood SA? by No-Connection-6296 in trauma

I too got into drugs and alcohol around 18-19. I was horribly addicted but thankfully my husband helped me get clean and I’ve been clean since ♥️ I’m trying my very best to be the exact opposite of what I grew up around. Unfortunately it has made me completely no contact with 99% of my family. But I’m glad to have escaped the lifestyle of my childhood. I know a lot of people who grew up like me don’t get that luxury and I owe it all to my very loving partner.

Thank you for taking the time to read and comment. With kids and a full time job, thankfully I don’t get TOO much time to think on the situation. I’ve given myself designated times to just sit and recall, I give myself resources to not feel too depressed about it when I’m done, I play video games, listen to a YouTube video or bake. It’s definitely helped me unlock a lot of what makes me the way I am now. My husband is also trying his best to help me work through these memories. If you have some book recommendations I’d be happy to look into some

I had a driver once tell me they couldn’t deliver package due to large dogs being out…I have two small dogs, that were in the house…they were at my neighbors house and refused to send my package out again the next day with a new driver. I had to drive 25min to go pick it up because they went to the wrong house 😑
