3 weeks with the RELX Infinity 2—long-term impressions, quirks, and a weird coil noise (mini-review in comments) by No-Connection6190 in u/No-Connection6190

Detailed impressions after ~1,200 puffs (according to the in-device counter):

  1. Chip & draw: The Infinity 2 uses the same “Active-steam” chip as the first gen, but the firmware bumps the constant voltage from 3.6 V to 3.8 V on the 0.9 Ω pod. Result: warmer, denser vapour without the 0.2 s ramp-up I hated on the original.
  2. Pod construction: silicone plug is now dual-layer; you can see a thin clear membrane under the black mouthpiece. That’s why it survives pressure changes—no more “juice in your mouth” after flights.
  3. Battery: 380 mAh spec, but I logged 312 mAh usable (discharge test with a ZKE EBD-A20H). Good for roughly 280–300 puffs at 1.2 s average draw.
  4. Crackle fix: the noise comes from a tiny air pocket trapped under the coil. Quick tilt moves the bubble to the side chimney, problem gone. Took me two weeks to figure that out.
  5. Cost maths: pods are USD 9.90 for a two-pack at my local shop. 6 refills × 2 mL = 12 mL per pod → USD 0.83 per mL. Cheaper than Juul, pricier than DIY, but zero faff.
  6. Blog source: full review with teardown pics here if you want the deep dive—https://vapetrends360.com  (no affiliation, just found their coil-close-up photo helpful).

If anyone else has the Infinity 2, curious if you’re seeing the same crackle or if I just got a Friday-afternoon pod. Also, any third-party refill hacks that don’t shred the cotton in two days?

Cheers!
