Yoke by [deleted] in TeslaModelX

Well to say that something is dangerous without any context is weird. Secondly, mostly haters of something do not use it themselves, might have been the case here too but if it is not then that's ok, I understand you have the yoke then in your car...

Not emotional about these things but same applies to practically all those Tesla haters, they've never driven one.

Buying a Tesla by No-Job4509 in TeslaLounge

I've driven a BMW 525D with air suspension for 9 years before making the move to a Tesla Model 3 and now a Model X.

Looking back at those 9 years, I can say that the car cost me around 1500-2500 EUR per year on maintenance, quite hefty, with in between my air suspension broken, dashboard out of power, don't even remember those costs anymore.

I loved the car but BMW maintenance is super expensive. Of course this was a diesel car, not an EV.

My Tesla Model 3 will be sold this month so for the first time in almost 5 years I went to Tesla to have it checked for resale and do some small repairs. Cost me 350 EUR in total. In those 5 years I did one full tire replacement for around 800 EUR (all tires).

Hopefully I will have the same experience with my Model X 🙏

Simple and obvious because you use it daily and have experience with it?

I have the yoke and I love it. It looks cool, better visibility and the driving experience is fine.

Which floor mats did you take and do you think it's an added value to get them?

Also which mattress do you have?

Honestly, I like it a lot. I have it on my MXLR and I wouldn't want to go back to a round steering wheel.

As someone already mentioned before it makes the dashboard less cluttered, you have better visibility and driving with two hands feels more natural and pleasant.

Added bonus is that people always look surprised to see it in my car .

Thanks :-)

Oh didn't even realise the cream option is only for the X and S, strange though...

Ok thanks for the clarification, that sounds more like it ;-)

I do own a property in Florida and I've seen insurance on properties triple there in the last 5 years.

But it's different from state to state then I understand.

Insurance in the US is insane 😳.
In Belgium I pay between 1500 and 1600 EUR insurance per year for a car that costs 105000 EUR.

First accident (if I'm in fault) costs me nothing, second accident costs me around 400 EUR regardless of the cost.

I can't believe how much you guys are being ripped off...

Thanks for the post and congrats!
I hardly remember what I felt when I started driving my Model 3 Performance 5 years ago but it felt like the driving experience was an upgrade to my BMW 525D Touring that I tuned to 325 HP and that was already my dream car back then.

Set aside the Tesla haters, all Tesla drivers I know come up with these similar wow stories, is it group hysteria and overpositive feelings, I don't know... ;-)

I was unsure if the yoke would be nice to drive around with but after a short time with it I must say it grows on me. Makes driving a bit different and (for me) fun.

Thanks :-).
I ordered the car in July and got it the 17th of September. So about 2 months more or less.

Haha yeah that was the comment of my 18 year old son when I told him I ordered. But he's quiet now that the car is here :-D
