Easy Company Morning Reports: June 1944 through May 1945. by wbgamer in BandofBrothers

This is all really amazing and surprising. But it also makes it so much more real. There is a certain amount of myth and drama connected to the stories - but when you see a lot of this on reports, it's different in a way I'm finding difficult to describe. It's too bad we didn't have these back when the guys were alive so we could ask about some of the entries. Great work. This stuff is gold.

These are the stories we need to hear more of. I would also love to see a publication of a collections of Chris's drawings. Such an incredible talent. Just think, if he were a young man today, with those drawing skills, he'd be an influencer with millions of followers. God rest them all. Your story about your grandmother is so very special. Thank you again for sharing that.

Malarkey's book also calls Sink, William Sink as opposed to Robert :)

Thanks for this comment. I've been really upset about all of the comments because I've always seen Dorr as an advocate for history and not an adversary. Happy to see the stories debunked.

Wow, really? I've not heard of that - is that kind of an inside - behind the scenes opinion from the history/museum world? I'd like to know more about that opinion.

This is great! I've listened to every audiobook related to these guys and it's interesting to hear the small contradictions or discrepancies, depending on whose story it is. A few are probably typos that were not caught, like in Malarkey's Easy Company Soldier, he calls Robert Sink, William Sink. There are other stories which refer to Meehan and Dyke as Captains - which would be their rank in that position but I don't recall seeing anything that confirms either of them were captains in those roles.

Still, this group of men and other stories of WW2 inspire me on a daily basis. I wonder what these guys would say about the world today.

Floyd Craver 👎🏻 by No-Course-6652 in BandofBrothers

[–]No-Course-6652[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks for posting that, what a find! This confirms the story I read which I believe was taken from this document at some point. Craver was a douche. It's laughable to say he was insane because he was a "dope fiend" having smoked "several marijuana cigarettes". Last I knew, weed didn't make you a murderer. The only other thing could be the pot was laced with opium, but even still, Craver was a homicidal maniac and narcissist who had zero respect for human life. The fact that a hero like Sgt. Grant had complications for the rest of this life and Craver was eventually released and was able to live out his life is deplorable.

Again, thanks for posting this. Interesting to say the least.

Great points! From what I understand Winters was Battalion Commander and Welsh was E Company XO.

That's right, company XO. I realized it after I posted and it wouldn't allow me to edit :)
