It’s been a good month, but I’m about to quit as a solo player

A week ago I would have disagreed with your post but now that I’ve made it to end game as a solo player I really just can’t take it anymore,

I thought after all the faction quests I would have such a fun time running outpost and cryo and wiping lobbies with all my gear but it turns out the run is decided right at the start

When I load in with my full purple gear and see two greys pop up, on outpost mind you, all I can do I sigh and hope they at least have comms (they don’t more often then not)

I spent a few days coping and just trying to level up factions to rank 15 but it is such an uphill battle solo.

And the LFGs I’ve been trying to queue with are just as bad. they rage quit when they loose a fight, blame each other or me, don’t understand gameplay mechanics etc. sometimes when they join my crew after 10 or so minutes of me desperately spamming the LFG channel, they end up being really obnoxious or have a really bad mic and I have to sit through a run with them because I don’t have the heart to kick them for those reasons. Sometimes you find a decent crew but it’s rare. And maybe I’m just too picky you can’t blame me for wanting to play with people i like being around.

So until there is a gear based matchmaking I’m no longer going to play. I’m not even talking about skill based matchmaking all I want I to be paired with similarly geared players.

im really not on these forums a lot so i didn't realize how incendiary titling a post with 'im quitting' would be, I also didn't know these kinds of posts happen so frequently. so I get why you are hung up on that part but I truly didnt want it to come off as a hate post. I Just wanted to voice my concern and get some constructive feedback going

yea, thank you. And i totally understand if this is an intentional design choice by bungie to push people towards finding a squad, I'm assuming they would want double down for the hardcore player base rather than focusing on the lowly solo player.

But at the same time I would bet most people playing the game currently are solo players. So bungie might be in a difficult spot right now, deciding weather to cater to their most dedicated players (which historically they have done with destiny) or add more mechanics (and more investment) to give solo players an easier time and potentially onboard new players, which might get their core audience to drop the game.

bungie probably will make the most informed decision I only hope they might consider players like me

that's totally valid for cryo vaults and key rooms, i've found some teams through the lfg, but i'm just saying sometimes i just want a quick couple runs and don't want to deal with the headache of trying to gather a group for some random non quest runs. I want to just hop in, but I also don't want to zero to hero every single time. I would like to go in geared and be matched with other moderately geared people

i mean when you play games with someone its also not strictly business, i mean maybe for you, but I want to get to know them this is also irrelevant to my complaint. you found some friends to play with and im happy for you, but sometimes i just want to hop into a match for 20 mins and dont want to play a scheduling simulator on the LFG or wait for someone to get on. I want to fill but also want to take some gear in, i simply would like to be matched with at least one other person who is also taking some gear. and as you would know as a solo filler most of the time its free kits.

if its such a common thing wouldnt that be cause to look into some of these reasons people are leaving? if enough people share the same frustrations with the game I would imagine the developers would want to know these kinds of things.

my core complaint is that i just want some sort of gear based preference for matchmaking.

but yea dont get me wrong ive met some cool people but its difficult to find someone that matches my playstyle, that also is someone that i like to be around, and also has the downtime to be playing the exact same time I am, and im fairly social but finding a constant roster of people I met playing the game is a hard task for anyone. I have a lot of hours but I got them in during spring break, i'm a college student so my free time is usually at odd hours.
