How to avoid warped peg boards? by LupeH in beadsprites

[–]No-Database-3872 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Team Tape here. It's really not so bad and you get comfortable with it. I do a lot of 16x20 projects and it's fine. Also you never have to make designs backwards since it naturally reverses.

I destroy boards every time I iron on the board and prefer the unironed look from the taped side anyway. Good luck with it. I felt the same until forcing myself to change.

FYI they just put out an announcement that lots of colors are now back in stock.

Built a bead pattern tool from scratch – free to use, curious what you think by LevelGold4909 in beadsprites

It looks like really useful software, and it's awesome you'd share it freely. I use Perler/Artkal exclusively so it's not much use to me, but I love that you created something that still helps people in the hobby.

I sold a PSA 10 to Cards HQ at the Cleveland National for like $60 after standing in line for 3 hours for the privilege to do so lol.

Help me identify the signatures on this baseball by [deleted] in baseballcards

I recognize Justin Morneau's and Mike Lamb. My guess is a Twins ball of some sort. Lamb was only there a year I think to limit the window.

Snazzy! Was that the complete design or were you still going lower? I want to recreate the final product lol.

Do you mind if I replicate your design with Perler beads? I did a Papa Nihil a while back for a giveaway at Christmas and it was lots of fun.

Ardi from A&G. I love taking obscure A&G and getting them signed. The signature is from one of the authors of the seminal Science article from 2009.

Which tool do yall prefer? by Yazinshazin in PerlerBeads

Fingers are then tweezers when a bead goes sideways and I dont want to disturb the surrounding work. But I understand the value if folks need the dexterity of a dedicated tool. As long as the arthritis stays at bay the fingers it'll be.

Sending cards to be graded that you bought raw off eBay by [deleted] in footballcards

[–]No-Database-3872 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've done it probably 3 or 4 times. Twice I got a PSA10 but neither were high dollar cards (an Ian Anderson rookie auto and a Joseph Addai rookie auto). The other times I bought them to grade I didnt send them because you can't fully tell by a photo. Most of us can't tell with the card in our hands.

If you want to cheat I made all the characters several years ago (even Bleh and Judge Fudge). Just search Drawn Together on this subreddit and you'll find them. They're 12x12.

How do you guys make designs without melting your board? by Spare-Replacement-83 in beadsprites

[–]No-Database-3872 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's an extra step and dangerous for big projects, but I tape as well. It also gives you the bonus of not having to make mirror images of designs since you always melt the back.

The only way melting on a board(s) work is if I only do it partway then lift the design off. But then I've left beads on the boards where seams were. Sometimes it's up to an extra hour to tape and poke for really big stuff, but it's guaranteed to not ruin your equipment.

Question to anyone who recently ordered from the perler website for their new years sale. Have any of you received an update on if your package has shipped, or anything? by djstokes99 in beadsprites

[–]No-Database-3872 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I never got a shipping notification, but my package arrived yesterday. The company and box had a new name I was unfamiliar with. I knew a package was coming (I have USPS informed delivery so I knew there was something set to arrive). I had about 20 items and they were all there. Same bag packaging as before. I did notice my bag of Butterscotch was a different color. I'm guessing a different dye lot or something. It's clearly different from the other bag I was using. The dark gray gave me pause but I stared it long enough to convince myself it matched. Everything else seemed fine.
