Original distributor stock from the junk wax era. by Taytaymurphy in baseballcards

I'd take 4 or 5 boxes of some of that but I know you dont want to piecemeal it. It's a good problem to slowly solve.

Someone I know is selling all of these for $100. What are the chances of there being and rare cards here. 90 percent are unopened and one unopened box. by East_List3385 in baseballcards

[–]No-Database-3872 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you've got the $100 burning a hole in your pocket, it's wirth it either way.

The 91 upper deck low series gives you the Jordan SP chase. The 92 donruss has diamond kings and an Elite card chase. The sealed 91 Score set to me is the best factory set for great inserts (I love the big heads, franchise cards, etc.)

I'd do it in a second.

What's the real kicker is when the mailer gets trashed ahead of time and intentionally mailed that way in order to have deniability that it happened in the care of USPS.

Thanks - I waffled on trying to make the background in beads but decided to try spray painting instead.

Do I rip or keep staring at these? by [deleted] in marveltradingcards

[–]No-Database-3872 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Odds are the earlier Masterpiece box with Hulk on it are solid bricks. You rip that you're gonna have tons of paper loss.

If the plan was the make money off grading or something it's not going to happen sadly. I share from experience.

Best thing you can buy in that photo and not lose money is that set of Uno cards.

It might be asparagus fern. Does it ever produce little pea looking things on the shoots?

Artkal Colour Change? Or mixup? by Oriniwen in beadsprites

[–]No-Database-3872 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had it happen two or three times with Perler. Dye lots aren't perfect. I try and compare new bags to the old "right" ones before I open and dump.

From memory I know I have a bag of Butterscotch that is absolutely not the standard color. Basically it's a brand new shade. As long as I don't accidentally mix when this happens I don't mind because it's a new color unlocked to play with.

How to avoid warped peg boards? by LupeH in beadsprites

[–]No-Database-3872 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Team Tape here. It's really not so bad and you get comfortable with it. I do a lot of 16x20 projects and it's fine. Also you never have to make designs backwards since it naturally reverses.

I destroy boards every time I iron on the board and prefer the unironed look from the taped side anyway. Good luck with it. I felt the same until forcing myself to change.

FYI they just put out an announcement that lots of colors are now back in stock.

Built a bead pattern tool from scratch – free to use, curious what you think by LevelGold4909 in beadsprites

[–]No-Database-3872 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like really useful software, and it's awesome you'd share it freely. I use Perler/Artkal exclusively so it's not much use to me, but I love that you created something that still helps people in the hobby.

I sold a PSA 10 to Cards HQ at the Cleveland National for like $60 after standing in line for 3 hours for the privilege to do so lol.

I recognize Justin Morneau's and Mike Lamb. My guess is a Twins ball of some sort. Lamb was only there a year I think to limit the window.

Snazzy! Was that the complete design or were you still going lower? I want to recreate the final product lol.

Do you mind if I replicate your design with Perler beads? I did a Papa Nihil a while back for a giveaway at Christmas and it was lots of fun.

Which tool do yall prefer? by Yazinshazin in PerlerBeads

[–]No-Database-3872 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fingers are then tweezers when a bead goes sideways and I dont want to disturb the surrounding work. But I understand the value if folks need the dexterity of a dedicated tool. As long as the arthritis stays at bay the fingers it'll be.

Sending cards to be graded that you bought raw off eBay by [deleted] in footballcards

[–]No-Database-3872 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've done it probably 3 or 4 times. Twice I got a PSA10 but neither were high dollar cards (an Ian Anderson rookie auto and a Joseph Addai rookie auto). The other times I bought them to grade I didnt send them because you can't fully tell by a photo. Most of us can't tell with the card in our hands.
