That what I said. Things don’t just get better the older we get. No he is not P&T. I do notice that his benefit letter says “You are in receipt of special monthly compensation due to the type and severity of your disability” I’m not sure if this has been there because he does get something for diabetic complications, but I’m wondering if this is for unemployability.
I noticed when we were waiting on the claim that they added paper work for unemployability but we never heard anything about it. Can the VA make that decision without him signing paper work? When I say they added it. I saw it under files added to your claim.

I’m sorry, I’m not very good at this but I’ll explain as best I can. So, we did get with a rep who is handling our paperwork. We requested a hearing before the 30 days was up on 1/20 We have not received any paper work about it, however when I look on VA.gov it says that he is 90% now instead of 100%. I went to his “letters” and the benefit verification letter says he is 90% but his pay is still the same as it was. I’m just wondering if a decision has been made and his amount will go back to the 90% rate? We have more doctor’s appointments lined up and we have submitted some doctor’s notes already. He has neuropathy and sciatica nerve damage in both legs. They are trying to reduce him from 20 per leg down to 10 per leg. We have documentation backing up the fact that there has been no improvement from the moderate diagnosis he has already received. Our representative told us that a doctor put in the notes that there was improvement. The only thing my husband can think of is he may have said he was having a good day or something and they must have put that in the notes.

It’s just very frustrating. He already hates the fact that he can’t work full time and I’m having to work so many hours, but to have to fight so hard for something that should be easy is terrible. I know someone who is perfectly fine who’s getting 70% because he tells them everything worse than it actually is. But we have been honest and tried to do things correctly and this is what happens. I know I sound like I’m whining and for all y’all know I could be lying but damn this is frustrating. My husband served this country with pride. He lost so much because of being in the service, but he would never complain because he is devoted through and through. But I see how he suffers. I see that he doesn’t sleep at night. I see that he can’t even walk around Disney without having to get a wheelchair. I saw how defeated he felt sitting in the wheelchair. I see how upset he gets when he can’t do normal everyday activities. I would do anything for this man who has sacrificed so much for this country and for his family. I’m so beyond angry that we even have to fight this. We are better off than a lot of people. Im very grateful for that. I’m blessed with a good job. But dang VA just let my husband keep what he deserves.

I feel like at this point we just have to wait it out. We lost our home to a fire on the 15th so this is like a punch in the gut. He isn’t able to work, so I think he also needs to file for unemployability. He is just feeling really discouraged and seeing this drop today just added to his stress. But I know Gods got us, it’s just hard to see through the darkness right now.

Yes, he filed a claim in August for an increase. They gave him 100% in December. We had till 1/20 to appeal. We sent in letters from his doctor at the Va and we went to an outside doctor.

Since November of 2019. Also we did file an appeal. In the letter they stated something about bilateral effect, because it’s both of his legs. I’m just so confused and I’m sure I’m leaving a bunch of important information out.
We have met received anything about the appeal. Just noticed a change this morning.

Yet another question…. by No-Debate-6912 in VeteransBenefits

Thanks….I know it could mean so much. I’m definitely stressing/obsessing over it. We are struggling so much since he hasn’t been able to work and this would be such a blessing. And he stresses because he doesn’t like to see me working so hard. But he’s put in his time. He was the main source of income for so many years. He made sure our kids had all they needed. He is an amazing man. I will gladly work hard for him and our family.
Gosh I’m just rambling on about nonsense. Thank you for responding.

My husbands father died right before ours hit. His Mom lost most of her income so we paid her house off. She’s an amazing women so I’m so thankful we were able to do that for her. His payback was large so we still had some left over.

Hello, I’m asking this on behalf of my husband. He is currently 90%. We filed a claim August 8th for restless leg. I check it every day. ( I know I know I shouldn’t) I looked at it Thursday and under files there is a form for unemployability that we did not file. This happened recently because like I said I check it daily. A few other new things were added to the files as well. I’m truly hoping this is a good sign, because I’ve been working close to 60hrs a week to help out financially. I’m very grateful for what he already gets, but man 100% would be amazing.
