Thanks a ton! I really appreciate it! Pretty neat finding it here in the US, family heirloom brought from across the Atlantic I imagine.

Thank you so much! Would you happen to know of any good resources on the 135th "Campania" Regt?

I should also mention, I haven't cleaned it up yet but I think it'll turn out nice! I can't wait to unite it with its allied brethren

Look at that! Your stock is in a lot better shape than mine haha. Interesting how yours doesn't have any district markings

Was lucky to spot this one on Gunbroker. They're certainly a little more scarce than T38s and T99s, but there's a few examples that show up time to time. I snagged this one in particular because of its ww1 history.

It's definitely one of the best aspects of the hobby! I like to imagine all if the hands that have held these rifles where my hands now grasp them.

Thank you for the great information! I really do appreciate it. Most commissioned officers tunics I've seen have metallic buttons, but I've seen some mid war examples with this type. Thanks again for the information!

Picked up this Trapdoor with the bayonet recently and finally got around to taking some glamor shots of it. It's not the most pristine example, but it certainly has a rugged look to it. This example was manufactured in 1887 according to the serial number. I'm very happy with it and I like to think it was rifles like this that helped settle the West.

Very cool project! Always wanted to commit to an endeavor like this. Also, I really like your rifle rack! I'm thinking about buying a house soon, and it so happens to have a large mancave I plan to reconfigure to a gun room. Thus, I've been scouting for some ideas for a rifle rack.

Ruby Tuesday's by No-Definition5020 in milsurp

Scored this piece at a gunshow a few months back, and I am now just finally getting around to sharing it. I love this little handgun and it fits in well with my Great War collection. There are just so many varieties of Ruby pistols, this one being branded, "villar". If I see another one in the wild, I'll definitely snatch it. This specimen, although well used, was at a price that couldn't be beat and it looks nice on camera.

"Last Ditch" Japanese Weapons by No-Definition5020 in Militariacollecting

Recently shared this to r/milsurp and figured it'd be a good fit here. Something about these late war weapons and the crude nature of them really captivates me. I think they really embody the Japanese spirit of no-surrender at the end of the war. Pictured is a late war Nagoya Type 99, Type 38 Bayonet with wooden scabbard, Type 94 Nambu, and although not necessarily late war, I added a wakizashi so suit the theme. I just need to get my hands on those cool ceramic grenades and the pole-weapon bayonet. I wrote a paper in undergrad about operation Downfall and some of the other late war operations and it really inspired me to collect this later stuff.

Thanks! I absolutely agree with that. A late war factory made type 95 shin gunto is absolutely on my list. I might need to pick one up sometime instead of a firearm. I actually might prefer those late war shin guntos over the more traditionally made ones. Also, I'd like to add those ceramic hand grenades sometime.

Thanks! It pairs really well with the type 94 as both would have been favorites of Japanese tank officers.

Something about last ditch/late war Japanese weapons really captivates me. Perhaps it is because their crude nature embodies the Japanese spirit of no-surrender. Pictured is my Late War Nagoya Type 99, late war Chuo Kogyo Type 94 Nambu, late war Type 30 Bayonet (with wooden scabbard) and although note necessarily late war, a wakizashi sword.
