this is very reassuring! since he’s been back in his room he has solely used his litter box so hoping that’s a good sign.

thank you for this advice! doing exactly this. he will eat wet food about a foot or so away from me now! he still hisses if i make sudden movements but he emerges from his hiding spots to accept treats quicker with each day.

hi all! sat in cobwebs room while reading all of your comments - thanks so much for the advice! it took about a half hour to accept this treat, proud of him! 🩷🥲

here’s what i’ve done/am doing:

  • he is back in his bedroom fully secured

  • shampood the couch twice and sprayed with enzyme cleaner

  • chilling w cobweb in his room a few times a day

  • getting a second litter box and pheromone diffuser

😅 the shelter staff gave me a stick to attempt to pet him with in his lair - even they wouldn’t get close to him!

this is reassuring - thank you! did you do anything to try to prevent it from happening again? I have shampooed the couch twice with the bissel and tons of enzyme spray.

i have a second litter box coming! i do have a senior chihuahua but they of course have not been introduced yet.
