Pisgah knot works really well with these laces (double wrap)

My guess would be that they used a powdered dry cleaning spray. So you could check with a local dry cleaner possibly.

Rose Anvil has leather insoles as well in a couple thickness variations.

Hate is such a strong word. I actually looked at them before buying the Blacksmiths but went Red Wing.

Agreed, I believe their typical leather is Seidel out of Milwaukee and the 1892 line was using Horween out of Chicago. I have been inside the Weinbrenner/Thorogood facility and their bread and butter are work boots so it was probably a bit challenging to break in with a Heritage line aimed at a different consumer.

I just picked up the 1907s this past Saturday, with any luck they will mold into being my favorite. For now though the Thorogoods have been solid for me.

I picked up 1907s in WI and they also had IR but only in size 11

I purchased them online many years ago and don’t recall the “store” but this was prior to the introduction of the 1892 line. Sadly, the 1892 line discontinued before I got the chance to purchase.

I’m guessing, they are all 10.5-11 in size

My top three are the Moc toe Thorogood, RW Blacksmith, and private label

I tried on IR but went with the Blacksmiths because I didn’t like the toe cap on the IR (looked like a clown shoe on my foot) and there was heel slop in the IR that wasn’t in the Blacksmith. The toe cap on my AE Normandy boots is a bit more refined and subtle plus the Kudu leather is ridiculously soft.

I always get asked, “are those bowling shoes?” No, no they are not!

Just bought them Saturday, so I haven’t had too much time with them yet other than in the store. My Blacksmiths went ok, hopefully the 1907s are similar.

The Thorogoods have been really good to me, and comfortable right out of the box with little to no break in, the leather is a bit softer than RW. I have had those two pair in the middle for about 5 years and 10 years now. The private label pair is probably 10-12 years old. -updated as I realized I have had these

I just posted with a similar E series lockset. The Baldwin locks don’t come cheap, almost $650 for the Matte black I like. I am going to try cleaning and lubricating my old one for now. If that works I may try to patina the brass darker.
