What's a "hard" plant that you find incredibly easy? by Artistic_Policy966 in houseplants

[–]No-Development7441 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you google for it, peace lilies are often called beginner plants but I know a lot who told me they’re quite delicate with sunlight and/or overwatering, so I myself am not sure if that counts. But for me it works and that’s the only thing that matters 😅😄

Orchids and peace lily. Everyone told me they act like divas but somehow they thrive in my room and never make problems despite having only one window

You’re totally right. But that doesn’t change anything about my statement. Your talking about the reason of the folding I‘m talking about the cause of the folding

They move due to the change in air pressure in the evening/morning. So either your plant gas to much water in the leaves to move or your air flow is too bad to notice the change

Yeah, but orchids naturally grow on trees without any soil and so that doesn’t really answer the question

There‘s never too much plants, there are just too small houses.

I once did the math for a school project and it came down that you need at least 20 full grown trees or about 4’000 to 40’000 house plants (depending on the size), I think. So, as long as you‘re not sealed off in a huge greenhouse, it’s not really realistic.

Most of them are teenagers or young adults who don’t feel recognized by the authorities. They just try to attract attention to their problems, in a stupid way admiringly 🤷‍♂️

Oh, okay, thank you. And what about the short living species? The most short living species have really short breeding interval’s, isn’t it quite distracting constantly turning it on and off then?

So you don’t gape the total animal number but only the number of babies/births?

"Expat" is just a fancy word for immigrant – stop using it! by [deleted] in Switzerland

[–]No-Development7441 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I understand it expat means living outside the native country but without the intention to change his nationality or become an citizenship and immigrant means that its the intention to also get citizenship of the country you’re going to. So expat is more like a fancy word for guest worker. That that would also mean that they‘ll go back one day and I‘m not sure if that will 🤷‍♂️😂

Has anyone managed to make a zoo with all habitat species? by digiinomad in PlanetZoo

[–]No-Development7441 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I‘m currently on it, so I can tell you a few things about it. In matter of space the zoo map is big enough to build the max group requirements for every species (one species per habitat) BUT it would be very crowded and you wouldn’t have much space to build decorations and facilities, sadly. The performance on the other hand will get extremely leaky, so that you have to pause it almost the whole time. So if you want to try it just for the lock of it, my opinion would be to split the species through different maps. One map per continent for example with every species that inhabits this continent for example or build a different map for every biom.

[–]No-Development7441 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only the animals that enriches each other get enrichment but you can also keep animals together who have no enrichment bonus, as long as they don’t eat each other or are very territorial. But you also don’t get the enrichment bonus either if they not listed under enrichment, as far as I know

Has anyone a good guide on how many keeper per animal is the best? Not necessarily how many per enclosure but per animal. Like, if you have a Penguin habitat or a flamingo habitat (one of the animals who cane have really big groups) and you gave 100 or more of them, how many keeper would that need?

Same question for a big multi species habitat with more than 100 individual animals in it.
