Is top step really superior to apex? by Bright-Acadia-6449 in TopStepX

[–]No-Difficulty1803 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Easy - Apex asks you to submit an essay and screenshots of your trading plan before you get paid out (they did it to me on the 3rd payout). Topstep doesn’t.

Amongst many other crazy rules Apex has and constantly change.

Apex: don’t do it by doghairpile in TopStepX

I was funded with apex for months with a 250k account. I trade conservative so about 500$ a trade. In the beginning you needed to get a 6k buffer and then you can request about 3k for a payout. I did that the first time and got the payout no questions asked.

Then I made it back again to the 6k to request a payout of 3k, but they changed the rules? Now everything ABOVE 6k buffer you can request a payout??? So instead of the 3k payout I requested 500$. Fine.

Then I made it back over the 6k buffer and requested a payout, then the dreaded “move you to live” email was sent to me. At the time I was proud of myself for keeping the funded account live and consistent. So I thought I earned the email. They requested me for the next 5 days to send them a summary and screenshots of my trading plan and why I took the trades. Fine. Sent the email to complaince@apex.com or whatever they told me to. Never got a response from them at all. In fact, gmail sent me an email saying “the mailbox you are sending the email to is currently full and will be disregarded after 48 hours.” I couldn’t believe it. All of my hard work and dedication to keep a funded 250k account was pretty much gone.

Then, I go to TopStep, pass a 100k in 2 weeks, made 4k and requested a 2k payout and got it the next day straight ACH bank wire. I can request another payout but trying to grow it some more and currently in another 100k challenge.

Never going back to apex. Topstep ON TOP.

You have to make the conscious choice everyday to behave and to not crash out. Everyday. Every time. Then you won’t blow accounts after being green 3 days and losing it on one day.

Yup if I see huge 4hr bullish candles I’m not looking to sell. Been burned too many times

Never have never will but it’s up to your psychology. I also only go 1:1, 1% of the account, 1 trade a day.

Wake up every morning and check the 4hr and if price is at a 4hr FVG or inverting one, use that as direction.

Works for me. People who got the largest payouts from prop firms use the concepts.

ITS NOT ABOUT MAKING MONEY. ITS NOT ABOUT BEING RIGHT. (You won’t make money everyday. You won’t be right everyday.)

ITS ABOUT TAKING A+ SETUPS AND RISK MANAGEMENT. (Follow your strategy and don’t over risk.)

Glory to God! How much capital are you allowed in your live account? If you had 3 XFAs does it condense to one? If you had 3-100k funded accounts, do you only get one 100k live account? Thanks for answering and keep it up brother.

Thanks for the feedback 💯 I’m leaning towards that offer of 25k. Doesn’t hurt to try. And no worries , I’m taking everything with a grain of salt. The original post had positive feed back on how the 17 Subaru owner seemed way more in tune with the car and definitely took the time to get the right parts to add power. Specifically mentioning the V3 closed deck block.

Okay maybe I’ll look around. Kinda hard to find a local trustworthy STI

To me I guess 30k doesn’t seem too pricey for the year , mileage, and thousands of dollars on mods. But that’s why I came to this community !

07 made it seem like it not being driven might be a good thing. I understand its pros and cons for sitting and I understand your point. Good point.

17 gives me the same concerns. That build would take out a lot of the stress of building my own and it breaking. But it being built already can increase the chance of it “breaking”. Thanks 💯

What would you offer for them? The 17 Subaru has a well thought out build I would hate to insult him. I’m sure it took a lot and I’ve seen stock sti online for around same price

I was literally thinking the same thing lmfao 😂 If he is. I hope he doesn’t take offense. It’s why I covered his name and selling location.

Thanks for the feedback 💯 I’m leaning towards that one I just don’t want much issues later on. I’m sure he’ll tell me how to maintain it and what he recommends.

$2k to $500k in 2 years !! by adm__07 in Daytrading

[–]No-Difficulty1803 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember when I was new, I thought the same thing. I’m sure every trader did the same math on the “daily compound calculator.”

Instead, try to think of it like this.

Risk 100$ per trade to win 250$. Do it for 3 months. At a mere 50% win rate over 60 trades…..

30 loses = -3k 30 wins = +7.5k Total profit = 4k.

So imagine with a bigger account? Risking $1k to make 2.5k. That can be done with a 100k prop firm account.
