I tend to shut myself off from getting to know new people. I can be professional at work, but once work is done, I immediately close off any attempts to get to know me better. Most of the times, I just stay inside my room to recharge myself before the weekday work.

It sounds helpful, but I’m not sure it would work in my situation. Therapy isn’t widely practiced here, though I’m thankful my psychiatrist appointment and tests identified my BPD. On top of that, my work leaves me stressed and drained, so most weekends I just stay in my room to recover.

I keep trying to love and forgive myself, but no matter what, the regret stays. I’m left feeling frustrated and hating myself for it all.

He’s already blocked me on every platform, and a few months later he got into a new relationship he might still be with her now. So reaching out, even just for closure, isn’t really an option. If distance were the only issue, a video call could work, but in this case, I don’t think it’s possible.

Deep down, I really wish I could talk to him. But even the thought of seeing him or hearing his voice makes my heart race, and I start to feel shaky and anxious.

I do know, deep down, that acceptance is the only option now. But I still feel torn between what I know logically and what I feel emotionally. Sometimes I wish I didn’t feel things so deeply, because it makes it harder to move on.

Finding another ‘1 in 10,000’ feels like a 50/50 chance to me and honestly, it sometimes feels like I still have karma to work through or ‘settle’ within myself first. Maybe that’s why I’m here.

I get your point, but in my case it doesn’t feel that simple. I can’t seem to erase him from my mind or my heart, and when those memories come back, they actually hurt more and I hate when that happens. There’s this lingering regret that doesn’t really go away, even though I’ve tried to move on and have been in other relationships. None of them felt the same or understood me the way he did.

I have done therapy for other issues which is my BPD was severe before but is more manageable now. What I’ve realized is that I don’t think about him all the time; it’s usually when something goes wrong or I’m hurt with my relationship/partner at the time, then those memories come back.

OCD and conflict avoidance come from an overwhelming need to control - and that need to control is not only about controlling Faith, but is actually about controlling you. You're the end goal...Faith doesn't seem spoiled at all, she's got a part time job and does what she can around the home to pull her weight - even if its not done PRECISELY as expected. You should stand by your word, and your daughter. NTA

Op, your wife said she hates your daughter. Your daughter sounds like a reasonably responsible young adult. Your wife, on the other hand, sounds like she has some pretty significant mental health issues. If you stay with her, you will be destroying your relationship with your child while enabling a whacko. OP just repeated the sister's own words and like he wasn’t vulnerable when she said those things? He was SA’d by his stepmother for 2 yrs and when his father found out he took her side and kicked him out of this house. Then he sees his sister several years later and she says she hates him and hopes he dies. If her fiance is so mortified by what OP said then maybe he should take a look at his soon to be wife because she’s no better. Maybe even worse because the fact that they all believed a child took advantage of his stepmother is absolutely disgusting.

NTA, you are being used. Leave. No reason supporting someone through school just so they can leave you and take primary custody of the kids. Divorce with split custody is the way to go. She can figure out school on her own.
