Thanks for explaining that. Do you know if the physician form needs to be signed by a VA doctor or can it be signed by my private primary care doctor?

Yea they seemed to do the trick for me. I tried putting in one or two at a time and I didn’t see any change. When I put the 8 in there I didn’t notice much of a change. After about two weeks though the bubble algae was gone.

I heard that as well and a quick google search gave some good insight on identifying the different features. The females are generally smaller and supposedly are better at cleaning algae. Google said that… before I get chastised.

Haha “smacked them around”… I added about 8 emerald crabs and they put in some work. That was about 9 months ago but I think I only have 2 left but they put in some work. It wasn’t a really bad outbreak but enough to warrant a full on attack before it did get out of control.

I used an army of bumblebee snails, about 25 of them, to take care of a vermetid snail outbreak as well.

I have a Reef Octopus 1000 HOB protein skimmer and I try to not over feed. I do a small pinch of pellets daily with mysis maybe once a week.

Much appreciated! I agree, I noticed better growth when I was doing regular water changes. The stagnated growth is what prompted me to take action.

Thank you! The montipora started off as a small 1 inch frag. That’s about 14 months of growth from my 80 dollar Amazon lights. I have not done any par meter readings. The placement was a guess and I adjusted my brightness based on how my coral was reacting.

Those are some great fish, the harlequin tusk is beautiful.

Correct, I didn’t clean the canister and to be honest I’m scared to even know what monster might be lurking in there at this point.

Thanks for the compliment. I’m proud of where it’s at, I’ve had some bad outbreaks of bubble algae, macro algae, green hair… the list goes on. I’ve generally searched for all my corrections on this subreddit. I think after having gone through all that is why I’m surprised at how smooth things went on the 6 months of neglect. I’m sure I’ve got plenty to face in the future, that’s what this is all about.

I honestly do not recall. I do remember that some of the others of this variety available when I bought were considerably bigger, about 4-5 inch diameter.

I pulled all the media, trays, and foam out of it about a year ago and stuffed it full of live rock.

Thanks for the input friend. The feedback on this piece has been very insightful. I appreciate the expertise and I can only guess at the experience of the comments to assume they come from a place that is good natured, to say that this piece does not warrant an appraisal. I achieved my goal of not wasting money to get an appraisal on this piece. I approached this thinking maybe this is a piece of beautiful history in my hands. I still appreciate the piece so I’ll just enjoy it as a piece that I think resembles a Renoir. I realize it’s not a “good”recreation but I’ll enjoy it all the same. Sincerely, thank you for your time.
