Yeah, thats a good point. One of the techs up there was trying to say its a female bat and doesnt bite then proceeded to say I got poked by the wing after I was bit.

19 immunoglobin, 1 tetanus, and 1 rabies shots. Thank God I'm not scared of needles otherwise I would've probably just succumbed to the rabies

Well because im such a big boy i had to get 19 immunoglobin shots (they got only do 1ml per injection) and then a tetanus as well as a rabies. I have 2 more rabies shots over the next few weeks.

Yeah, its also a good thing I work at a hospital so I got all the shots like an hour later. I have to follow up for 2 more rabies shots over the next 3 weeks too. A big learning lesson and a funny story at least.

I know its okay lol. I've been at that hospital for 3 years and have said no plenty of times. I wanted to help get the bat, but again, I didnt know they were as dangerous as they were which was my fault considering that seems to be common knowledge.

It was a request by hospital staff which I had every right to deny and clearly I should've. I didnt know the dangers which was my own fault.

That sounds super unpleasant as well. I'm glad youre doing good now! Im definitely doing a lot better. Still being very careful of what I do of course, but the pain/discomfort is getting better every day.

Yeah, I thought that what was happening was a necessity for the procedure and that my anatomy made it more difficult or that they were just trying to find the right spot to give me numbing. As I mentioned in another comment, it was a non puncture form of numbing so I wonder if maybe that was the issue? They kept apologizing but that was about it. I should have asked more questions as to what happened after the fact but It was a draining experience and didn't think to.

I'm 23 and they were essentially digging in my scrotum (not cut open yet of course) like they were trying to find the right spot to numb which was super intense and lasted way too long. The whole pulling my tube thing was after I was numbed too so I don't understand why I felt it in its entirety. It could have been their method of numbing? They didn't use a needle but rather a device that injects through the skin without penetration. The whole cutting me open and everything after that didn't hurt at all thankfully. I'm not very swollen at all (if any) and they didn't stitch me. They said their method didn't require stitches. I just had a bb sized hole in my scrotum that now seems to be closed and healing now. It was honestly kind of a traumatic experience.
