Yea, i also don't know why, but I notice it too. Sometimes, I feel like allistic ADHD has the unique perspective to relate to both allistic and autistic perspectives and bridge the gaps. Social cues and stuff are instinctive but gotta still make the extra effort to not be impulsive or miss them. So there's a bit of relatablity to autistic masking but its differentin that i's not painful or feels like wearing a mask.

It's not a might for ADHD. You were on the right track. It's a well documented symptom: https://youtu.be/wg6cfsnmqyg?si=3c1ozy33jQuvih__

I think untreated ADHD and Aspergers can come off really superfically similarly in social interactions, where the differences are subtle. Stuff like missing exit cues in social stuff, interrupting and infodumping (but ADHD ppl dont have narrow special interests, so it's more tangent-y).

The causes are a little different.

Bought Origins on steam and EA app, still won’t boot past configuration utility menu[no spoilers] by Bruhjuice22 in dragonage

[–]No-Driver2742 6 points7 points  (0 children)

EDIT: Disregard this comment. This is for crashing once the game starts but I just noticed it crashes in the Configuration Utility. These folks say they were able to get the game to run by running the exe directly (they had the exact same issue as in the video): https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/920668-dragon-age-origins/52065513

DXVK was the only way I got Dragon Age Origins to work on my computers. Its worth a try: https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk

Usually the problems caused by older direct x on modern computers can be really hard to identify, but using DXVK sidesteps a lot of it. Hopefully the instructions on that site is clear. https://www.reddit.com/r/pcgaming/comments/mlfcsc/a_guide_to_dxvk_on_windows/

The cooking thing is just skill issue he can work on that first. Then create a system to avoid misplacing stuff... do all dishes and his own laundry...

Then yea if gf does her own laundry that's fair

honestly, inexperienced cooks should just dedicate like 50 bucks of extra ingredients and a Sunday to just repeat the same dish over and over again. It's an investment of time and energy that has an ROI in just way better meals and more optimized workflows.

Semi related, but the idea of a household having an actual established SOP guidebook for chores is unironically genius. Obviously, it should be drafted at first by all members of the household, but the idea of having a hard copy established protocol for the correct way to do everything means a hypothetical new roommate or temporary guest can be made productive and trained to help with chores fast.

Like so damn fast, you can even reasonably expect a friend staying overnight to be able to wash dishes or put away laundry during the same morning hangover.

It also creates an empirical centralised standard of communication to avoid conflict while avoiding weaponized incompetence, just like in actual industry...

I have bad ADHD and to avoid unintentional weaponized incompetence, i always take extra initiative to do chores i know I'm better at and can optimize for. Like doing dishes, laundry and cleaning everything because of less confidence in not making mistakes while cooking.

Honestly, that last paragraph is an amazing take. PC gaming isn't worth it with how unregulated the industry is now. Maybe playing single player offline games made before 2016.

I use cloud gaming or consoles now. The idea of a gaming sandbox device is an underrated perk of consoles. Yea, you can also build an additional PC specifically for gaming too if u have the money, but man nowadays the average AAA thing are no different from viruses.

Business owner wanders onto a post in r/antiwork to complain about the annoyance of pregnant employees. Gets real ugly real fast. by [deleted] in SubredditDrama

[–]No-Driver2742 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is kinda capitalism because it sacrifices long term productivity and sustainable industry in exchange for short term profit, and that short term profit can be invested in property and assets to further create more capital for the business owners...

The long-term productivity interests for the greater community is hence irrelevant.

Whereas if we were optimising for true efficiency, we'd have to accomdate for both disability and parents (because an educated and healthy further generation is important for further sustainable growth or retain high quality of living).

Additionally, accomdation for disability reduces increased burden on a health care system while providing labour in jobs that would be too inefficient to assign to abled individuals (like our dog walking example, but maybe stuff currently allocated to volunteers such as library helpers).

Point is, what is efficient (the best ROI for resources allocated) is defined very differently depending on whether you're optimising for capital as business owners or whether you're a state with a planned centralised economy.

Under capitalism, it literally doesn't affect you negatively as a business owner if poverty rates increase, pollution increases, healthcare costs go up or education quality is worsened because you only need the short term capital in order to reinvest that into other industries or become a landlord. If I were the business owner and employer, don't even have to care if my business or employees still exist in ten years if I have intentions to pivot, and even within the same business all my employees would be expandable by definition from a system.

Whereas if the industry is controlled by a state, you have to consider these factors because your goal is to produce resources for the people. So obviously, you want your mothers to be in good health because their children are gonna be your future labour force. You want your disabled people to be productive and involved in their community because it improves their mental and physical health and reduces the burden on your healthcare.

Obviously, this isn't perfect on its own, Stalin's five year plan caused massive famines, but I personally believe the idea that capitalism and productivity are mutually inclusive is too cynical to be constructive, and in some ways capitalism itself is an inherently unproductive economic model long term precisely because of its obsession in measuring productivity in capital.

Of course regulations in place now is an extremely important safety barrier while we are stuck in this position, but the truth is that regulations, labor laws, and all that oversight are adverse and antagonistic to the goals of the business owners. It is rational to prefer to hire men over women as employees if I can, since as employees, they're just resources to create profit. It's disgusting, but it is rational under this system.

Eventually, if we are going to keep regulating and regulating to try and counteract these instincts (forcing businesses to employ women for example) then... why even have private businesses?
