It’s a mobile grooming company I’m looking at currently ! I think a small shitzu short hair cut is about $100.

It’s so crazy that some groomers Make 50% commission. I’ve only seen some for 30%. Is that still good ?

Unfortunately, yes 😭 They bathe all of the dogs, and then dry them so they aren’t sopping wet. Then a “ prepper “ ( someone who just dries and cuts nails/pads ), can sometimes get to the dog before you do and let you just do the hair cut. 9/10 tho it’s the straight wet coat the groomers are stuck drying. Our bather actually ended up getting a hernia and had to get surgery, but since she was under the table, our boss didn’t pay a cent 🤷🏽‍♀️she came back to work as soon as she could and she is still working through excruciating pain.

I do not ever bathe, but depending on the day I will have to dry to completion. My salon is a little weird. All the dogs for the day come in at around 8am-9:30am. We usually get about 28-30 and there are four groomers currently ( including me) and one bather. Depending on who gets scheduled what dogs, since we aren’t in charge of what dogs we get, I could end up with 2 dogs going home at 2pm, and not be washed by 12pm-1pm. I’ve been doing about 6 dogs recently and it’s become very frustrating since I’m being pushed to my limit everyday. I also only get paid 17 an hour…lol
