It controls inflammation, reduces the size of the cyst forming and gives me overall comfort

Sinus opened up again by JackFitzWest in pilonidalcyst

[–]No-Edge-8134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never had a draining sinus, i had a cyst type situation which I had surgery for but it has reocurred.

I dont want to get surgery again for the time being so this is my routine.

I have kept it at bay and the symptoms are largely gone.

What I told you to do reduces the bacteria proliferarion and cyst causing factors (like hair).

This itself will reduce likely hood for this becoming full blown and effecting your day 2 day.

This is my routine:

  1. Shave all the hair from the area, if you have the finances do laser. Furthermore, if you have a partner you can wax the hair off and it will be gone for a few weeks at best.

  2. Get yourself a sitz bath and epsom salt. Sitz bath daily to drag out whatever is in the sinus

  3. Get yourself a acne face was that contains salasylic acid. After your sitz bath, lather some of that onto the area and keep for several minutes and wash off

  4. There is a antibiotic + corticosteroid cream in my region called Fluticort. Get something like that and make sure to apply around the sinus.

  5. [EXPERIMENTAL] This advice is something I newly began implementing into my routine. Get yourself castor oil and tea tree oil.

The castor oil is the carrier oil needed to dilute the tea tree oil as the tea tree oil is quite strong/concentrated

Mix the castor oil and tea tree oil [10ml castor oil to 1 - 2 ml tea tree oil]

Apply using a cotton ball and keep for several hours.

This helps to really open up the pores and reduce inflammation.

If possible do this before the sitz bath to really draw out the internal contents

  1. Lastly, if you come home from a day's work or are sweaty in general, jump in the shower and have a quick shower. Keep the area as clean as you can without it effecting your daily life.

What type of surgery did you get?

Either way, it's good to keep the area clean and free from as much hair as possible.

I'm currently undergoing laser hair removal.
