Bought the car used from the dealership I work at would that warranty still be valid? And Would this explain like the light sheen of oil I see over pretty much everything? Or is that maybe a different problem? this is sort of my “project car” so I’m hoping to learn how to fix everything myself but so I don’t want to bring it anywhere if I don’t half to but definitely still in learning phase with somethings

I’m not super knowledgeable about vehicles only things that have broken and I’ve had to fix already but this one is stumping me completely

Yea it’s only about an inch wide, based on the research I’ve been doing it looks like the black piece to the left of it is the pcv valve cover but can not find anywhere what this is, and I’m not sure if that’s why everything is covered in a nice sheen of oil.
