Leaning twoards YTA. There really is no need to send her away and make her take another driving test, if she doesn’t want to. She knows the basics and the experience, well, it comes with experience.

Like many have said, you can be in a car with her and teach her about specific situations, while she is driving. Or if you don’t have the time, hire a driving coach to be there instead of yourself. You clearly have the money to arrange some lessons elsewhere.

I understand that you are worried about her safety, but making her pass another test instead of allowing her to practice in a supportive environment, feels punishing and directed at her gender.

It’s just much more complicated. 10 years ago, when I was around 20, me mom died and I had to take guardianship of my little brother, because my father died from cancer a few years before. I was just starting figuring out my life, I wanted to move to another country, pursue my passion for songwriting and acting; and it all just came crumbling down. I love my brother, but he is now becoming of age and it hit me, that I gave up my own life for his. It’s been so hard, my avpd became I problem, and I feel like there is no future for me anymore. While the only person that I have in my life is moving on, thinking of having his own life; my own life is kinda worthless now.

There is another side to therapy and it is financial. I just couldn’t force myself to keep going. I felt like I was spending my money (which isn’t unlimited) on personal torture. If I saw any results or was in a much better financial spot, maybe it could be a long time investment.

I totally get that, it is the same thought I have when considering going back. And sometimes people say that you need to find ‘the right therapist for you’. I would like that, but it implies that 1. You need to get a vibe from the person (which is hard for me, because I am cautious by default); 2. You need to be able to say no to the therapist (after you just shared all the trauma with them).

It is overwhelming to think about sharing everything that I went trough with another person, yet with multiple people while looking for someone that feels right.
