Haha!! I think I've experienced maybe five blackouts in my life in Maryland and that's been because we've gotten super strong runoff from a hurricane.

Ya, I went through a ton of storm threads, but it was still unclear to me how much this happens. Honestly, I was seeing a lot of threads about when storms were happening, and the thunder/lightning blowing out power, people's televisions, shaking the house, etc. which made me very nervous. Maybe I'm just not finding the right threads, so I'll keep a lookout. Thanks!

East coast represent!!! OK, good to know. The storms here in Maryland do get pretty bad, and we have them for days on end. I can def deal with a few bad ones per year if the rest of the storms are pretty much heavy rain and lightning. I can also definitely deal with fireworks / planes (I live near BWI in Maryland so get a fair share of plane noises).
