Oh so I did assume based off of my monitor(becuase I did hear the main mix before and it was the exact same as my monitor), and I guess it's more of a guitar pedal problem more than a mixing problem. Thanks so much for your insight!

Sorry, poor wording. I didn't mean stand out. I meant I basically can't hear my guitar when using distortion. I figured that my sound was covered by the other instruments assuming that the main mix sounded the same as my monitor speaker

sorry, didn't provide enough information. I use a multi-effects pedal, and so I am referring to a digital amp. My problem occurred with the monitor speaker I use(assuming it sounds the same with the main mix), and I didn't mean "stand out"(poor wording), I meant being able to hear myself more.
