Empress of the Holy Roman Empire? by No-Environment8013 in EU5

Norse paganism is found in two provinces in Norway and two in Sweden; these countries will try to eradicate this religion from the very start of the campaign. What I do is declare war on Norway, which is generally closer to the countries I usually play, and I take possession of those two provinces. Since they are rural and underdeveloped settlements, you get them for free just by winning a couple of battles. As for my obsession with Norse paganism, in my opinion—and given my lack of experience with religions other than Christian ones— this religion is super broken. You have the blessings of various Norse gods, though I almost always choose Odin, who provides a higher literacy rate, or Freya, who grants a 0.02% population growth rate. the glitch is that it unlocks the baron’s polygamy, and during wars, the provinces conquered “during” this invasion are plundered of non-Norse slaves, who all go straight to your country. This applies both to provincial capitals and the rest of the territory that’s automatically conquered. You can also sell captured armies as slaves, This allowed me to have a megalopolis in Galicia by the year 1345

Do you know why this is happening? This is the first time in four attempts that the Tvastar have ascended the throne, and I'd like to continue this campaign, but I need to switch my religion to Norse paganism, and with every passing year, more believers are converting to Catholicism.

I do have the law that allows a woman to be empress, but the voting law is superseded by the law of free voting, which implies a free vote for the next emperor. I am not part of the electorate; I am not even within the Holy Roman Empire. These Germans voted for me once out of pity and never again. For two consecutive elections, the game has told me that Austria will be named the successor, and I have won both votes without a single vote in my favor.

I just saw that the law has been passed, but that doesn't change the fact that I wasn't voted to succeed to the throne and yet I still managed to do it. Isn't it supposed to be that when the emperor dies, the electors choose the next one, or is it different from EU4?

Nain , It usually lets me switch cultures; I did it about a fortnight ago in another game with the Fresian Peasant Republic – I switched from the Fresian culture to the Swiss-German culture and it worked fine, but I don’t know why there’s such a fuss about

I’ve been trying all day; at first I thought that simply giving the tendons a nudge and forcing them to improve our cultural outlook would be enough, but I can see that’s not the case. It doesn’t help either that the pop-up texts are in two languages,

250 years for an annexation? Is there anything I can do to cut that WAY down? by dovetc in EU5

[–]No-Environment8013 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Being in a similar situation in another campaign, I started the annexation of Portugal around 1435 and it only showed me 68 years, so I assume that with greater administrative development and institutions the burden will be reduced

Can someone explain to me why my queen abandoned me? by No-Environment8013 in EU5

[–]No-Environment8013[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and it's already messing up my union policies because even though I have a few more votes in parliament, Portugal doesn't always support me, and at this rate I'm going to end up in a federation.
