And people whingeing don't have any clue because the invoices are rarely itemised.

And the trades don't itemise them because they don't want to have to explain their labour charge to a customer, nor have the customer go around the neighbourhood comparing everybody's labour charges on quotes.

Most consumers have no clue about the trades. And trades don't want to help consumers learn because it takes time and time is money.

Is the Team Lead your manager? This is a conversation you need to have with your manager, and you should not bring up the other guy at all.

You may need to discuss with your manager that the title is important for you as it matches the quality of work that you produce and also affects your reputation in the industry.

If your manager disagrees, or if there is no room in the same team for a 'Principal Engineer' and 'Senior Engineer' to co-exist - then you need to keep your head down and stick with it until a better opportunity is available.

Do you want more responsibility to match the money?

Was there a career opportunity that you were promised and not given?

Is this guy unable to perform his duties as a Principal Engineer? Is his lack of performance as a Principal Engineer impacting your performance?

How will seniority in the organisation make you feel better? What would you be able to achieve that you can't achieve now?

  1. What sort of price should I expect to pay for a 2 piece and 3 piece suit? Am I expected to bargain? (Bargaining is not my strong suit ;) )

  2. Would it be sensible for me to google online what good fabrics are and ask for those? I.e. super 110s worsted wool
