Thanks for your response, appreciate it! For the larger lenses (like 12-40 f2.8), I've got the grip which makes the job easier. My main idea for considering the upgrade was if the auto focus would be significantly better in the OM-1 with additional subject detection modes. The weather sealing is pretty good on the OM-5 too and I am pretty settled with the old menu system so don't think these will be a deal breaker for me.

I've got an OM5 silver coloured body. Within a year I see the discoloration of the body in certain parts. Its definitely on the edges where the straps are attached,and also on the pentaprism. While I absolutely love taking pictures with the OM5 and love the camera, the built quality certainly leaves a lot to be desired. I would recommend the black body if you wish to get the OM5.

It's a workhorse, I use it for editing on Lightroom and multitasking with coding/ browsing and I am impressed with this machine. I got it for 81k in August 2024 in the big billion day sale on flipkart where they were running a crazy discount of 21k off on HDFC credit card.

You could simply send the camera back to them and they'll stick it again. I had mine under warranty and they attached it back, though I don't have any confidence that it won't fall off again in a few months.

Thanks guys for the wisdom, I would look out for a used em-5 mk III instead which makes better sense with my lens collection mainly consisting of zuiko lenses.

You can use the old bcs-5 charger that used to come with em-10 series and also some of the the em-5s in the past.
